I’ve seen a couple women recently who were not treated with hormones long enough, or at all. It’s not about hot flashes, it’s about preventing osteoporosis, protecting your heart and brain, and ensuring physiological functioning. If you experienced premature ‘menopause’ - look into hormones.

Good info about heat related danger and death. That ugly brown over Michigan indicates we are a high danger state this week.
If you don't have air conditioning, and your home is hot, find a place that is cool for at least part of the day. The library (everyone can go), malls, restaurants, public buildings ... find what you need. Make sure to hydrate too. Be safe, and check on your neighbors and friends who are at risk.

So many women were taught to fear hormone therapy after the early 2000s headlines, and the result was not better care. It was years of untreated symptoms, confusion, and women being told to just deal with it. Hormone therapy is not for everyone, but for many women, it can be safe, effective, and life-changing when prescribed thoughtfully. The problem was never women asking for help. The problem was the fear that made them think they couldn’t.
