July is Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, named for the author and advocate who spent her life shining light on mental illness in communities of color.
Bebe said: "We need a national campaign to destigmatize mental illness, especially one targeted toward African Americans…It’s not shameful to have a mental illness. Get treatment. Recovery is possible.”
This month, we're remembering. And we're listening. Because equity in mental health care isn't a side issue. It's the whole thing. 💙
