Sometimes, one small shift can change everything. 🤍

Our newest blog, The Moment Everything Changed, shares a mother’s journey through filial play therapy—and the powerful impact of connection, understanding, and learning to see things from a child’s perspective.

Kayla Falgout, LPC, offers a story of growth, hope, and the moments that remind us that connection really can change everything.

Just sharing a little growth and development ✨

Becca Bowers recently led a continuing education course on healing from body image distress. We’re grateful for opportunities like this to keep learning, growing, and deepening our understanding. 🤍

We’re proud to be a member of One Acadiana and thankful to have access to their high-tech classroom for this course! It was the perfect space for bringing everyone together for an engaging day of education and connection.

We’re so excited to welcome Destiny Lazard, PLPC to The Authenticity Center! ✨

Destiny believes counseling should be a place where you can be fully yourself — seen, heard, challenged, and accepted without judgment.

She works with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, codependency, personality disorders, life transitions, and the many experiences that can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves. With experience as a group therapist, Destiny brings a genuine curiosity to her work. She wants to understand the whole story — not just what someone is struggling with, but where it comes from, how it has shaped them, and where they want to go from here.

Her approach is primarily person-centered, with an emphasis on mindfulness, self-awareness, and the therapeutic relationship. Destiny believes there are times we simply need a safe place to be heard, and other times when we need someone willing to hold up a mirror and gently challenge us to look at the parts of ourselves we may not want to face. There’s room for both.

At the heart of her work is a belief that getting to know yourself is an important part of creating a life that feels fulfilling and authentic. Her hope is to help clients become more connected to themselves, more purposeful in their choices, and more confident in living as who they truly are.

And fittingly, her motto is simple: Be you. 🤍

We’re so grateful to have Destiny on our team and can’t wait for you to get to know her.

Welcome, Destiny! ✨

Now Available: Accelerated Resolution Therapy with Holly Orellana and Dawn Bouillion.

We are excited to share that TAC's own Holly Orellana is now offering Accelerated Resolution Therapy... and if you haven't heard of it, keep reading. It’s pretty cool.

ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) is an evidence-based therapy that uses guided eye movements and a process called voluntary image replacement to help people process trauma. Here's the part that surprises most people: results often happen in just one to five sessions.

The goal is simple: keep the knowledge of what happened, but lose the pain attached to it. You don't have to relive your trauma in vivid detail or talk through every piece of it out loud. Instead, your therapist guides you to replace distressing images with positive ones of your own choosing. Your brain does the rest.

ART has been shown to be effective for PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, and more. It's recognized as evidence-based by the American Psychological Association (APA) and is similar in some ways to EMDR - but often faster and less verbally intensive.

If you or someone you love has been carrying something heavy for a long time and wondering if healing is possible, it is. And it might not take as long as you think. 💛

Reach out to us to learn more or schedule with Holly or Dawn for ART.

Nobody talks about how scary it is to ask for help. We just know we don’t like it.

We're out here acting like booking a therapy appointment is easy.

Like picking up the phone isn't a whole moment in itself!
Like sitting across from someone and saying "I'm struggling" doesn't take every ounce of nerve you've got.

It does. And you did it anyway. Or you're thinking about it. Either way, that's courage.

At The Authenticity Center, we don't take lightly the courage it takes to walk through our door, literally. We know it was a big step to make that call. To send that email. To show up.

And here's what we know about the hard work you do once you're here: the real magic of counseling isn't what happens in the session. It's what you do with it.

👉 The bold moves you start making for yourself.
👉 The boundaries you finally set.
👉 The version of yourself you decide to become.

Courage is one of our core values because we see it every single day in our clients. We try to foster an environment that allows you to BE courageous. And we don't just sit with you in the hard stuff, we help you build something from it. 💛

So if you've been putting off that first session... this is your sign. 👇
