Here's something that surprises a lot of people: chronic heartburn is not just uncomfortable, it can over time lead to a condition called Barrett's esophagus, which significantly increases the risk of esophageal cancer.

Men are 3 to 4 times more likely to develop Barrett's than women. If you've been managing acid reflux with over-the-counter medication for years without ever talking to a GI specialist, that's worth revisiting.

There are effective treatments, and knowing where you stand gives you real options. We're happy to talk through your symptoms and what makes sense next. granitegastro.com

Today is National Cancer Survivors Day — a moment to honor those who have faced cancer and to recognize the courage it takes to show up for every appointment, every treatment, and every follow-up. 💙

To our patients who have walked that road: we see you and we are honored to be part of your care team. And to those who haven't yet scheduled their colorectal cancer screening — today is a meaningful day to make that call. Early detection saves lives. granitegastro.com

June is Men's Health Month, and we're using it to say something important: men are at higher risk for several serious GI conditions, including colorectal cancer, Barrett's esophagus, and liver disease and are also the least likely to get screened in time.

That combination is something we can change together. If you're a man over 45, or have a family history of GI conditions, this month is the nudge you've been waiting for. Reach out to our team and let's talk about where to start.

Today is World No To***co Day, and there has never been a better reason to talk about what smoking does to your digestive health. To***co use is linked to a significantly increased risk of Crohn's disease, peptic ulcers, liver disease, acid reflux, and several GI cancers.

Quitting is one of the most impactful things you can do not just for your lungs, but for your entire digestive system. If you are experiencing GI symptoms and are a current or former smoker, our team at Granite State Gastroenterology is here to help. Visit granitegastro.com.

A capsule endoscopy might sound high-tech, and it is, but the experience for patients is surprisingly simple. You swallow a small capsule that contains a tiny camera, and as it travels through your digestive system it records thousands of images that help your gastroenterologist evaluate your small bowel.

It is a powerful tool for diagnosing conditions like Crohn's disease, small bowel bleeding, and other GI issues that standard scopes cannot easily reach.

Granite State Gastroenterology offers capsule endoscopy at our New Hampshire locations. Learn more at granitegastro.com.

Have you ever noticed that your stomach feels off after eating certain foods but you are not sure which ones are the culprit?

Keeping a simple food and symptom diary is one of the most useful things you can do before your first GI appointment. Jot down what you eat, when you eat it, and how you feel afterward. Even a few days of notes can give your gastroenterologist valuable insight and help get you to answers faster.

Small effort, big payoff. Our team at Granite State Gastroenterology is ready to help you connect the dots. Visit granitegastro.com.
