The medical practice that is now Lamas Medical Center began in the early 1960’s with our patriarch and founder, the late Juan F. More than 25 years later, after completing her medical training in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Juan F. During the mid-1990’s, Dr. Ana M. Lamas added Clinical Immunology to the practice. Indeed, Dr. Lamas is one of very few Board Certi
fied Allergists/Immunologists in the Tri-county area who administer intravenous gammagobulin in the office setting. Over the ensuing years, father and daughter co-managed the practice and shaped it into its present day unique blend of old-style humanistic values with modern state-of-the-art medical care, diagnostic techniques and treatments. In 2002, Mariana Viera-Navarro, PA-C joined the practice. Ms. Viera-Navarro has enriched the practice as an extremely hard worker with a passionate commitment to all aspects of clinical care. She has particularly distinguished herself in the care and management of food allergic children. She is a speaker on food allergies and their emergency management in the school setting at several Miami-Dade County schools. More recently, in 2014, Dr. Ana M. Lamas added Yaneli Cuesta, PA-C to the practice. Cuesta brings with her six years of Dermatology experience, which greatly enhances the complete management of allergic skin disorders in our practice; with the ability to perform procedures such as punch biopsies on site, the work up of allergic skin diseases can be completed in-house. In 2007, Dr. Ana Lamas decided to broaden the scope of her clinical practice to include Cosmetic Skin Care and Weight Loss Management. This area has been an extremely successful and well received extension to the practice. In addition to Dr. Lamas’s excellent skills as an injector, she provides the same service, respect and warm individual attention for which she is so well regarded in her clinical practice.
