Join us for a brand NEW Virtual Workshop on Thursday, July 30 from 6pm-7pm!

When the Brain Can’t Rest: Sleep, Trauma, and Mental Health

We will explore what trauma means, why it can be hard to define, and how those definitions shape the research and treatments available to people with trauma-related mental health concerns. We will then look inside the sleeping brain of both adults and you to understand how sleep helps us regulate emotion, process memory, and recover stress.

There is no charge to attend, please register for the Zoom meeting following this link: https://tinyurl.com/2a7mhp62

Our staff team headed to beautiful Poynette yesterday for a staff retreat.

We talked a lot about the future of NAMI Dane County and all of the ways we want to see the organization expand in service to the community and advocacy for our most vulnerable populations.

We ended the day feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready to find new and innovative ways to support the community. Stay tuned!

Trauma Reminder: Fireworks

As we head into the 4th of July, please remember that for some, this holiday can be incredibly difficult.

Being aware of your surroundings and talking with friends and family ahead of time can help you be mindful of others who may be triggered by the sound and flashes of fireworks.

For more information on how to be aware of how others feel as well as how to navigate the holiday as someone with PTSD, please follow this link:
