Looking back at Day 2 of SXSW London at our panel "AI Is Already Shaping Childhood. Who Is Shaping AI? Balancing Innovation, Evidence, and Safety in Youth Mental Health". Julia Gillard, Chair of Wellcome Trust and Former PM of Australia, and Giovanni Salum, SVP for Global Programs at the Child Mind Institute share their thoughts around AI in mental health care and how the tool can supplement human connection, especially during a shortage of mental healthcare providers, but never replace it.

The more we know about what helps — and harms — LGBTQ+ youth, the better we can support them. We must look at both the risk factors — things that increase the likelihood that an LGBTQ+ kid will develop serious mental health problems — and the protective factors, or things that reduce that risk.

If a young person has a lot of risk factors and hardly any protective factors, they are particularly vulnerable. On the other hand, if they have a fair number of risk factors but a lot of protective factors, they may be less vulnerable.

Wrapping up Mental Health Awareness month highlighting our five Mental Health Fitness skills for raising emotionally resilient kids. 💙

Parenting is hard. Raising a kid who knows how to feel their feelings, calm their body, and question their own thoughts? That's something special. Every check-in, deep breath, and "I understand" before the advice adds up more than you know.

Save this for the moments you need a reminder. 🌱
