The Back to School Family Wellness Event at our East New York Health HUB was a wonderful day of family fun and community connection! Families enjoyed backyard games, face painting, healthy snacks, and brand new backpacks and school supplies to help kick off the new school year. 📚

A special thank you to MetroPlusHealth for generously donating 100 backpacks, helping students start the school year prepared and ready to succeed. 🎒🌟

We are so grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make this event such a special celebration this back-to-school season.

Recovery does not end when crisis care does.

ICL Chief Operating Officer Dr. Troy Boyle joined Pat Robinson on 94.7 The Block to discuss New York City’s $4.5 million investment to expand ICL’s STEPS program citywide.

STEPS fills a critical gap in the behavioral health system by helping New Yorkers maintain stability after intensive mental health treatment, while opening capacity in higher-intensity programs for people who urgently need that level of care.

The model is already delivering strong outcomes, helping participants remain housed, avoid hospitalization and incarceration, and continue building independent lives in the community.

Listen to the conversation to learn how this investment can strengthen New York City’s behavioral health system via the link in the comments. ⬇️

Turns out, helping your community is kinda chic. ☀️💛

Thank you to the volunteers who joined us this week to pack cooling kits for New Yorkers experiencing homelessness. These kits help our outreach teams provide relief during extreme heat while building connections to critical services and care. Every kit packed represents a community coming together to support people when they need it most.

ICL’s Laura Savino, Senior Vice President of Care Management, joined OPEN BronxNet Television to discuss New York City’s $4.5 million investment to expand ICL’s STEPS program citywide.

STEPS fills a critical gap in the city’s mental health system by helping New Yorkers maintain stability after leaving intensive treatment. After just two years, 97% of participants remained stably housed, 89% avoided hospitalization and 100% had no arrests or incarceration—all while the program operated at just 18% of the cost of intensive services.

During yet another heat advisory in New York City, a simple cooling kit can make a world of difference.

Behind every cooling kit is someone who knows just how much these small items can mean during a heat emergency. Each kit includes practical essentials like a rechargeable fan, a reusable water bottle, instant cold packs, and more that help our clients and community members stay safe during dangerous heat, and connect to resources that can support them on their path forward.

Help us keep these life-saving supplies and connections moving into the community. Donate today through the following link: iclinc.org/coolingkits/

Summer fun was in full swing at our Children & Family Treatment & Support Services (CFTSS) Summer Wellness Fair! 🎉

Families joined us for an afternoon of great food, dancing, face painting, and games, while children received books and back-to-school supplies to help them prepare for the year ahead. 📚🎨

Along with the festivities, families learned more about the many services and supports available at the East New York Health HUB and connected with resources to support their well-being year-round.

Together with Neighborhood Coalition for Shelter, we’re distributing cooling kits with rechargeable fans, water bottles, sunscreen, and other essentials.
