If you are struggling with anxiety or depression, or have come to a crossroad in life where you are feeling troubled or unclear, therapy can be an anchor to help you slow down, reassess and refocus. While the benefits are clear, the decision to pursue psychotherapy, and the effort involved in finding the right therapist and making that first appointment can be intimidating. Our primary goal is to provide a safe, empathetic, and warm environment to encourage personal exploration and growth. Our clinicians help clients find relief from life's challenges related to anxiety, depression, transitions, relationships and work-related stress. Everyone entering psychotherapy comes from a unique walk of life. Together, we can identify your specific goals and create a treatment plan that addresses your areas of need. We also offer comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological testing for children, adolescents and adults. Common reasons forevaluation include testing for emotional, behavioral or academic difficulties; the presence of learning disabilities or Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity disorders; and to gain a better understanding of intellectual functioning and personality.

We’re proud to see Dr. Dara Houp featured in Fox News Digital, offering her clinical perspective on why the loss of Dolly Parton can feel so deeply personal.

From parasocial grief to the way public figures become woven into our memories, relationships, and life stories, Dara explains why grief doesn’t always require knowing someone personally.

A well-deserved spotlight on the psychology behind a feeling so many people are experiencing right now.

We’re proud to celebrate another national media feature from our team.
Our clinician, Yulgeim Gomez, LMHC, was recently featured in Forbes Health, sharing his expertise on the connection between financial stress and mental health.
One insight that stood out:
“The goal is never to replace negative thoughts with unrealistic affirmations. ‘Everything is fine’ is both unrealistic and invalidating. Instead, we focus on creating a more balanced form of thinking.”
This perspective reflects the kind of evidence-based, compassionate care we strive to provide every day.
Congratulations, Yulgeim, on being recognized as a trusted voice in the mental health community. We’re proud to have your expertise on our team.

Our brains don’t just react to danger—they react to uncertainty. That’s one of the reasons ongoing health scares can feel so mentally exhausting, even if they don’t directly affect us. We’re proud of Dr Anna Plotkina for sharing her expertise with Forbes Health on the psychological impact of the Cyclospora outbreak and why uncertainty can be such a powerful driver of anxiety.

What if improving your mood didn’t require an hour at the gym?

New research suggests that just 5–10 minutes of movement—taking the stairs, walking around the block, or even doing household chores—can provide an immediate boost in mood and energy. The best part? Those small wins often create momentum, making you more likely to keep moving.

As our own Dr. Dara Houp shared with Healthline:

“In many circumstances, action comes before motivation.”

That’s one of the core principles we talk about in therapy. We often wait until we feel motivated to act, but more often than not, it’s the action itself that helps motivation show up.

So if you’re feeling stuck today, don’t aim for perfect. Aim for possible.

Take the stairs. Fold the laundry. Walk around the block. Stretch for five minutes.

Your brain doesn’t always need a big change—it often just needs a small reason to get started.

We’re so proud to see our clinician, Dr. Dara Houp, featured in Healthline sharing practical, evidence-based strategies for mental wellness.

We often think validation means agreeing with someone. It doesn’t. Validation is communicating, “I can understand your experience,” even when you remember things differently, had different intentions, or don’t fully agree. These small shifts can help someone feel heard without abandoning your own perspective.
Which one of these communication shifts stood out to you most?

The words we choose matter—especially with the people we love most.
Many parents believe they need to have all the answers. In reality, one of the most powerful ways to strengthen a relationship with an adult child is through accountability and repair.
We’re proud to see our own Dr. Anna Plotkina featured in Parade, sharing why a simple phrase like, “I’m sorry for my mistakes,” can help foster trust, validation, and deeper connection.
