NYU FACES FACES (Finding A Cure For Epilepsy and Seizures) Most importantly, we are committed to finding a cure.

FACES (Finding A Cure for Epilepsy and Seizures) is affiliated with NYU Langone Medical Center and The NYU Comprehensive Epilepsy Center. FACES began when a group of parents, adult patients, and doctors came together in 1994 to advance research, clinical care, and education, and to tackle the social and behavioral problems that complicate epilepsy. FACES seeks to improve the quality of life for all people affected by epilepsy through research, education and awareness, and community-building events.

After moving to NYC over five years ago, running the TCS NYC Marathon has been a dream of Zack’s. This year, he’s making that dream a reality with TeamFACES! As a patient at the NYU Langone Comprehensive Epilepsy Center who actively manages his own epilepsy - this race is especially meaningful, allowing him to support a cause that’s close to his heart.

Help Zack make every mile count by supporting his fundraising efforts by using the link below.

On Sunday, November 1, TeamFACES will race in the 2026 TCS NYC Marathon and look to complete 26.2 miles and finish the race in style! In the next few weeks, we will be introducing some members of this year’s TeamFACES marathon team and sharing some of their stories. Please consider supporting our TeamFACES runners as they look to reach their fundraising goals. All proceeds will benefit FACES programs, research, and initiatives at the NYU Langone Comprehensive Epilepsy Center.

In advance of the 2026 TCS NYC Marathon – one of our dedicated TeamFACES runner, Lisa Jacobson, has decided to lace up for the marathon and raise funds to support the mission of FACES (Finding A Cure for Epilepsy and Seizures) in a unique way.

With a contribution of at least $300 to her fundraiser, Lisa will paint your pet’s portrait (while supplies last)! The painting will be around 10”x10” oil or acrylic. Upon completion, it can be picked up in New York City or you can pay for shipping.

Please contact FACES at [email protected] if you are interested in this one-of-a-kind keepsake while helping advance epilepsy research, patient care, and family support programs.
