Sometimes, the signs that an aging loved one needs extra support aren't easy to recognize.

Unexplained weight loss, changes in personal hygiene, difficulty getting around, or a loss of interest in favorite activities can all be subtle signs that something more is going on.

We know how difficult it can be to notice changes in someone you love, and even harder to know what to do next. You don't have to figure it all out at once. We can help you navigate your concerns and explore care options that best suit your family. Give us a call at 302-478-5707 to learn more about how we can help.

Knowing what to look for is the first step toward getting your loved one the support they need. Read our latest blog for tips on recognizing these signs and navigating your next steps:

Last Thursday, we were honored to sponsor Delaware Today's Top Doctors and Top Dentists of 2026 Reception at the Linda L. Bean Center at the Intercollegiate Studies Institute.

Our COO, Becca Graner, and VP of Sales & Business Development, Anna, joined several Delaware Hospice team members to represent our organization and share information about the full range of services we provide to our community.

We were especially excited to celebrate our own Medical Director, Dr. Matthew Debo, who was recognized as a 2026 Delaware Today Top Doc!

At Delaware Hospice, we're grateful for the dedicated physicians who provide exceptional care, compassion, and support to patients and their families. Strong partnerships with our medical community help ensure people receive the right care at the right time, with dignity, comfort, and choice.

Congratulations to Dr. Debo and to all of the 2026 Delaware Today Top Doctors and Top Dentists! 🎉

A huge thank you to all of our sponsors and everyone who joined us for a wonderful day out on the course in Dagsboro.

This was our 18th year hosting this event! Have any of our golfer friends on Facebook joined us for all 18 outings? ⛳

On October 18, 1982, Delaware Hospice assessed and admitted our very first patient.

Over the years, many things have changed, from our team members to our office locations. But through it all, our mission has remained the same. We have stayed focused on supporting every individual, family, and community with compassionate and expert care.

As we celebrate another anniversary, we reflect with gratitude on the countless lives we’ve been privileged to touch and the families who have welcomed us into some of life’s most personal moments.

To our community, thank you for trusting Delaware Hospice to care for your loved ones. It is a privilege we never take for granted, and we look forward to continuing to serve our community for years to come.

“I really appreciate the help and service I received from Delaware Hospice. They answered all my questions and didn’t just tell me what to do, but gave me the reasons why and what to expect. They always told me my options. Every nurse and representative I interacted with was very kind, respectful, and knowledgeable. I would recommend them to anyone who needs additional care. I know my loved one was very happy to have the option of staying at home until they passed. Thank you, Delaware Hospice.”

Every family deserves compassionate care, clear answers, and support that respects their wishes. We’re here to help you understand your options and find the care that’s right for your loved one.

Navigating dementia care is a journey no one should have to take alone.

Caring for a loved one living with dementia means navigating changing needs, difficult days, and uncertainty about what comes next. While so much of your attention goes toward caring for someone you love, your own well-being matters, too.

At Delaware Hospice, we understand just how difficult this challenge can be for caregivers.

Through our GUIDE-approved Dementia Care Program, we help individuals living with dementia and their caregivers navigate this journey with greater confidence. From personalized care guidance and ongoing education to emotional support and helpful resources, our team is here to help families find their footing as needs change.

Are you a caregiver for a loved one living with dementia but in need of enhanced support? We are here for you. Learn more about how we can assist you by visiting https://delawarehospice.org or calling us at 302-478-5707.

There's another retirement to celebrate this week, and this time, we're honoring two very special pups! We had a chance to say farewell to one of our amazing pet therapy teams.

For the past seven years, father-daughter duo Howard and Jessica have brought their labradoodles, Daisy and Nala, to the Delaware Hospice Center each week, sharing so much unconditional love with our patients, families, and staff.

Daisy and Nala have also been special visitors at Camp New Hope, offering comfort and cuddles to our young campers each year. Their gentle presence has made a lasting impact on so many hearts throughout the years.

Now, at 11 and 6 years old, Daisy and Nala are heading into a well-deserved doggy retirement! While we'll certainly miss their visits, we're so grateful for the joy and comfort they've brought to our Delaware Hospice family.

Happy t(r)ails to Daisy and Nala! 🐾
