We are proud to congratulate Trent Coffey as he begins this exciting new chapter with the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy.

Trent has been a tremendous advocate for recovery, prevention, and the people of our community, and we are grateful for the support and partnership he has shown Myrtle and those we serve.

We will certainly miss seeing him here as much in Scott County, but we couldn’t be prouder to see his experience and passion making an impact at the national level. Congratulations, Trent! Wishing you every success. From the Team at Myrtle Recovery Centers.

Today is a bittersweet day for our organization as we say farewell to Trent Coffey, who is leaving us to begin a new chapter of service as a political appointee with the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) in Washington, D.C.

Throughout his time with our organization, Trent has been much more than a leader. He has been an advocate for our community, a trusted colleague and friend, and someone deeply committed to improving the lives of the people we serve. His leadership, experience, and dedication have helped shape our organization and the work we do across our region.

While we are certainly going to miss having him here every day, we could not be more proud to see his knowledge and experience recognized at the national level. The same commitment to prevention and community service that he has demonstrated here will now have an opportunity to make an impact across the country.

We are grateful for everything Trent has given to this organization, to our coalition, and to Scott County. Although today marks the end of one chapter, we know it is the beginning of an exciting and important new one.

From all of us at STAND, congratulations, Trent. Thank you for your leadership, your friendship, and your years of service. We wish you every success in Washington and look forward to seeing where this next chapter takes you.

You will be greatly missed, but we couldn't be prouder to see you go. We love you. 🀍🌎

We are proud to partner with Big South Fork Medical Center to provide a truly unique model of care for our region. πŸ™ By integrating substance use treatment with hospital-based medical services, we're able to care for patients with complex medical needs that many standalone treatment facilities are unable to accept.

Whether a patient requires detoxification, mobility assistance, wound care, management of chronic medical conditions, or other hospital services during treatment, our integrated approach allows them to receive comprehensive care without leaving campus.πŸ₯

This partnership not only expands access to care for patients across Tennessee, but also strengthens and supports our rural hospital by increasing access to specialty services, enhancing care coordination, and helping ensure these vital healthcare resources remain available for our community. 🌎

We appreciated the opportunity to share the importance of expanding access to treatment in rural Tennessee with Representative Kelly Keisling and congressional candidate Van Hilleary. Thank you both for taking the time to learn more about the work being done in Oneida and the impact this collaborative model has on the communities we serve. πŸ’™

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Kelly Keisling - State Representative and congressional candidate Van Hilleary to Big South Fork Medical Center and Myrtle Recovery Centers to discuss rural healthcare and substance use treatment in Tennessee. πŸ₯

We appreciated the opportunity to share both the challenges and opportunities facing rural communities. We are incredibly proud of our dedicated team, who work every day to overcome obstacles and provide high-quality, compassionate care to the patients and communities we serve. Thank you both for taking the time to visit and learn more about what we do. πŸ’™

On Friday, our team had the opportunity to attend the REACH Impact Summit at the Metro Drug Coalition Gateway Recovery Community Center. It was an inspiring morning filled with powerful speakers, meaningful conversations, and stories that highlighted the impact of recovery and community partnerships. πŸ™

One of the highlights of the day was the unveiling of a new naloxone vending machine, providing free, barrier-free access to this life-saving medication for anyone who may need it.

Naloxone is a life-saving medication that can quickly reverse an opioid overdose by restoring normal breathing, giving emergency responders valuable time to provide further medical care. πŸš‘

This important initiative was made possible through a partnership between the Reach Impact Institute, Fund Recovery, the Metro Drug Coalition, and the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.πŸ’š

We are grateful to see resources like this available to our community. The naloxone vending machine is located outside the Gateway Recovery Community Center at 530 W. 5th Avenue, Knoxville, TN, making this life-saving medication more accessible to those who need it most. πŸ“

Together, we can continue working toward a healthier, safer community. πŸ’™

🌟 Celebrating Recovery, Hope, and New Beginnings 🌟

"Every graduate is proof that hope works, recovery is possible, and brighter days are ahead."

Recently, we have had the privilege of celebrating another group of graduates as they completed their treatment journey. Their dedication, courage, and commitment to building a healthier future inspire us all.

At Myrtle Recovery Centers, we are proud of our graduates each and every week. Every graduation represents hard work, perseverance, and a commitment to positive change. While recovery is a lifelong journey, these milestones deserve to be celebrated and recognized.

We are honored to have been part of their journey and look forward to seeing all they accomplish in the next chapter of their lives.

Higher Ground Recovery Summit ⛰️

We are proud to share that our CEO, Robert (Bob) Merritt MSN, RN was a featured speaker at this year’s Higher Ground Recovery Summit.

Bob’s session focused on stigma, substance use disorder and behavioral health, highlighting the importance of compassionate, accessible care in our communities.πŸ’™

A sincere thank you to South Central Human Resource Agency for hosting such a meaningful event earlier this week, and for bringing together an outstanding group of speakers.

We are honored to be part of these conversations and remain committed to expanding access, reducing stigma, and strengthening recovery support across rural Tennessee. πŸ™

Tomorrow is the day. πŸ’Š

National Take Back Day is happening this Saturday, April 25th from 10 AM – 2 PM. If you’ve been meaning to clean out your medicine cabinet, this is your reminder.

Unused or expired medications can pose real risks when they sit in our homes. Safe disposal is a simple step that helps prevent misuse and protects our community.

Take a few minutes today to gather any medications you no longer need and bring them to a drop-off location tomorrow:

πŸ“ Oneida Police Department
πŸ“ Scott County Sheriff’s Department
πŸ“ Myrtle Recovery Centers

Small actions like this create safer homes and stronger communities.
