The recent 2026 medical study published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology concluded that neither Finasteride nor Dutasteride increases a person’s risk of depression.

Ironically, the scientific study showed the exact opposite was true.

Men with androgenetic alopecia treated with Finasteride or Dutasteride had a significantly lower risk of depressive episodes.

Our patient had a FUT hair transplant surgery with 2,000 graphs in 2015. 11 years later, our happy patient scheduled another surgery with Dr. McAndrews in 2026.

This video shows the original inconspicuous fine linear donor area scar (from 2015) that Dr. McAndrews masterfully & artistically created.

The fine FUT line is still almost barely distinguishable 11 years later.

Is there a peptide that reverses hair loss and produces thicker & longer hair?
The answer is “hopefully, but not yet.”

No peptides are FDA-approved for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia (pattern hair loss). To be FDA-approved for hair loss, a manufacturer must fund multi-phase human clinical trials to prove it’s both safe and more effective than a placebo.

PP405 does show early results for Androgenetic Alopecia. This emerging peptide is currently in Phase 2 clinical trials, but remains years away from potential FDA approval.

Unfortunately there are lots of snake-oil products and witch-doctors making false claims with bogus products (sold over the counter as cosmetic ingredients).

Peptides will play a huge part in the treatment & preventative of human disease and aging in the near future. But it takes time & patience to do the proper medical research.
