This is not a “gotcha” post—there is nothing wrong with asking kids questions! But if you notice that a child is having a tricky time warming up, here are some other strategies that might come in handy:
☀️making a simple comment
☀️narrating what the child is doing
☀️starting to play
Teachers, doctors, grandparents—anyone who welcomes children into a home, office, or classroom can easily use these skills to create a low pressure opportunity to warm up before asking questions!
