If I could bottle up a feeling and keep it forever, I think it would be this one. Of all the love stories these old walls have witnessed, how lucky am I that one of them gets to be ours.

I asked for a castle and my husband said here 🏰 Still trying to wrap my head around the fact that this was real life. That I got to put on my wedding dress, take my husband’s hand, and play and roam and dance in the meadow outside this castle (THE castle that inspired Minas Tirith in Lord of the Rings!!!!) There are some places that just don’t feel real. Like you somehow stepped out of your actual life and into another world for a little while. And this was one of them. Mont Saint-Michel has stood here for over a thousand years. Through generations and lifetimes and more stories than we could ever know. And now, somehow, a tiny piece of our story gets to live here too. I’m unsure how I’m meant to go back to normal life after this, but I read somewhere once that “maybe the closest we ever get to living inside a fairytale is finding someone who makes the real world feel like one.” And I have. 🤍
