Grief can fit us feeling disconnected from ourselves, from others and from the life we once knew. It doesn’t follow a timeline and it isn’t something we can just move on from when we want to. And our busy lives, we rarely are given space to simply be with grief to allow it to flow through us. Making space for grief as a gathering for women to build community, and allow some practices that can really help you to be able to express grief and reconnect to the sense of presence, compassion and support that you need. The group meets once a month for 90 minute sessions, hope to see u there ! https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1992944608974?aff=

🌿New Resource: Mindfulness for Anxiety Relie

When anxiety takes over, it can be difficult to slow your thoughts, relax your body, or feel present in your day. While we can't always eliminate anxiety, we can learn skills to respond to it with greater awareness and compassion.

I'm excited to share my new Mindfulness for Anxiety Relief course, now available on Insight Timer. This self-paced course offers practical mindfulness tools to help you:

✨ Calm your nervous system
✨ Reduce the impact of anxious thoughts
✨ Develop greater self-compassion
✨ Build a sustainable mindfulness practice for everyday life

If you or someone you know is looking for additional tools for managing anxiety, I hope this course serves as a helpful resource.

Mindfulness For Anxiety Relief

A 6-lesson mini course (approx. 1 hour 28 minutes total) combining teaching with guided practice — each lesson pairs a concept with at least one experiential exercise, so you're not just learning about mindfulness, you're practicing it.

No prior meditation experience is needed. This course isn't about eliminating anxiety — it's about changing your relationship with it. Go at your own pace, revisit lessons as often as you'd like, and know this isn't a replacement for therapy — it's a companion to it.

As a therapist, I've seen how often people carry their grief alone. They hold it together for work, for family, for everyone else. They tell themselves they should be doing better by now. But grief doesn't follow a timeline, and it isn't something we can think our way through.
It lives in the body.
That's why I created Making Space for Grief.
This three-part gathering is an invitation to slow down and gently tend to what has been carried for so long. Through mindfulness, gentle movement, breath, reflection, and supportive community, we'll create space for grief to be acknowledged rather than pushed away.
You don't need any yoga experience. You don't need to have the "right" words. You don't even need to share if you don't want to.
You simply need permission to come as you are.
Whether your loss is recent or happened years ago, you are welcome here.

If your heart has been longing for a place where your grief can simply be held, I'd be honored to welcome you.

Grief is not a problem to be solved. It’s an experience that needs room — room to be felt, honored, and gently released.
Hi, I’m Chris McDonald, therapist and yoga teacher. In this Reel I’m sharing a little about who I am, why grief has become so close to my heart, and who this retreat was created for.
Release & Reconnect is a half-day retreat designed specifically for women who are carrying grief — whether it’s the loss of a person, a relationship, an identity, or a chapter of life. If you’ve been feeling stuck, heavy, or like you’ve never quite had the space to truly process your loss, this retreat is for you.
Set against the beautiful surroundings of Sky Pond in Apex, NC, we’ll move through breathwork, gentle somatic movement and yoga, guided journaling, meditation, and group sharing — all held in a warm, nurturing space where you don’t have to perform “being okay.”
You’ll leave with tools to continue your healing, a deeper connection to yourself, and the reminder that you don’t have to do this alone.
Grief deserves more than being pushed aside. Come give it — and yourself — the space it needs. 🤍
