A very special thank you to my incredible interns Violet and Shanie, who graduated this summer and completed their internships with me this year. 🤎🎓
For an entire year, I had the privilege of watching them learn, grow, challenge themselves, and pour so much heart into the work they did.
Together, they provided 600+ pro bono therapy sessions to low-income individuals, families, and children in our community helping make quality mental health care more accessible to those who may not otherwise have had the opportunity to receive it.
Sessions were provided in both English and Spanish, using a holistic, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed approach. They brought their own strengths and areas of expertise into the therapy room while also utilizing research-supported, evidence-based modalities, including EMDR and other trauma-focused interventions.
Many of the individuals they served came with complex trauma and life experiences that required compassion, patience, clinical skill, and, most importantly, humanity.
And that’s what makes me the most proud. It isn’t only the 600+ sessions they provided it’s how they showed up for every person who trusted them with their story. With heart, love, curiosity, respect, and a genuine commitment to healing.
Supervising them for an entire year was incredibly meaningful to me. I learned from them just as much as I hope they learned from me, and I’m grateful they trusted me to be part of their journey into this profession.
Watching them graduate this summer and move into their next chapter is bittersweet, but I couldn’t be more proud.
Thank you for choosing me as your supervisor, for trusting the process, and for serving our community with so much heart.
600+ pro bono sessions. Two languages. Evidence-based and holistic care. Countless stories held with compassion.
Congratulations, graduates. 🎓✨ I can’t wait to see the clinicians you continue to become.
