Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, we pause to remember and honor the lives lost, the survivors, and the countless first responders and healthcare professionals whose courage and sacrifice shaped our nation forever.
This week, we had the privilege of bringing together representatives from 85 trauma centers across three states for the 25th Anniversary 9/11 Memorial Tri-State Trauma Teams Conference. Together, we reflected on where we were then, where we are now, and the lessons learned over the past quarter century.
Through meaningful discussions on disaster preparedness, emergency response, trauma system development, and multidisciplinary collaboration, we explored how the events of 9/11 transformed the way we prepare for and respond to large-scale emergencies. While much has changed, our commitment to readiness, resilience, and patient care remains unwavering.
As we commemorate this solemn anniversary, we honor those affected by 9/11 by continuing to strengthen our trauma systems, improve disaster response, and work together to better serve our communities. 🇺🇸
