Congratulations to Genesis Garcia, RN, Highland’s newest DAISY Award® recipient! Genesis, a nurse on our Palliative Care Unit, was recognized for the extraordinary compassion and comfort she provided to a patient and her family during their final days together. As one family member shared, “Genesis has such a warm and calming presence, as well as a deep understanding of end-of-life care.” They also described returning to their loved one’s room to find “soft music was playing, my mom’s sheets were nicely arranged, and the room felt more peaceful,” a thoughtful gesture that brought comfort during an incredibly difficult time. Thank you, Genesis, for the compassionate care you provide every day and for exemplifying the spirit of the DAISY Award® 🌼 💙

After 25 years of dedicated service, Carmen Hunter is retiring from Highland Hospital on Thursday.

Throughout her career in Sterile Processing, Carmen has played an important role in supporting our teams and helping provide exceptional care for our patients. Her expertise, commitment, and behind-the-scenes contributions have had a lasting impact on the Highland community.
