🌞 Happy National Senior Health and Fitness Day! Today was a wonderful day filled with sunshine and smiles. A big thank you to Susan from Cycling Without Age for bringing her tri-shaw and giving rides around the campus! 🚴‍♀️

Our resident programs team set up summer safety stations where we conducted experiments with sunscreen. Did you know that lotion sunscreen is actually more effective than higher SPF spray? We also discussed important signs of heat stroke and the necessity of staying hydrated. 💧

Everyone had the chance to win exciting summer safety prizes, and we refreshed ourselves with delicious infused water. The favorite flavor? Watermelon! 🍉 Cheers to a fun and informative day!

What a fantastic time we had at the Lilac and Libations presentation! We dove into the rich history of Highland Park, took a virtual stroll through its beautiful gardens, and uncovered the charming origins of the Lilac Festival. Did you know we have an adorable mascot named Lila, the lilac skunk? 🦨💜

We indulged in some delightful lilac gin, sipped the festival's official beer, and enjoyed some lovely wines. But the highlight of the day? Crowning our very own Lilac Queen, Bonnie! 👑💐 You can't miss her—she's usually decked out in purple from head to toe! Cheers to a blooming good time!

Back when the weather was cold and gray, we brought a little excitement to the season with a Casino Night! 🎰 Our top high roller won a day trip to Del Lago Resort & Casino and invited a couple lucky friends along for the ride. While Beverly, Lillian, and Ginny may not have come home millionaires, they definitely hit the jackpot when it came to memories, and spending the day in the best company. ❤️

Today we had the honor of presenting this year’s Carmen Ricklefs Kindness Award to Auggie from our Plant Operations team.

Auggie received several heartfelt nominations, many sharing that his “kindness speaks quietly, but powerfully.” ❤️

This award is presented each year in memory of Carmen Ricklefs, our beloved housekeeping supervisor, who passed away unexpectedly and embodied kindness in everything she did. Through this award, we continue to honor her legacy and the impact she made on our community.
