As the school year approaches, many parents start noticing things that were easy to overlook over the summer.

ADHD does not always look like constant motion; it can show up as trouble with multi-step directions, missed homework, or big feelings that seem to come out of nowhere.

Autism can be subtle too, especially in girls, showing up as social exhaustion or a strong need for routine rather than the signs people expect.

Learning disabilities often surface once academic demands increase, making reading, writing, or math feel harder than they should.

If any of this sounds familiar, a neuropsychological evaluation can help identify what is really going on, call 320-247-4068 or visit claryclinic.com to learn more.

Wondering what actually happens during a neuropsychological evaluation? It's not a single test or a quick checklist. It typically involves conversation, structured activities, and standardized measures of attention, memory, language, and problem-solving, all delivered at a pace that fits the person being seen.

At Clary Clinic, we see one patient per day, so there's no rushing and no waiting room crowd.

If you've been putting off an evaluation because the process feels unclear, we're happy to walk you through it.

Today is World Brain Day, a good reminder that brain health deserves attention at every age. Changes in memory, focus, or thinking aren't always part of normal aging, and they aren't always something else either. A thorough evaluation can tell you which one you're dealing with, so you and your family aren't left guessing.

Clary Clinic offers memory and dementia evaluations for adults in central Minnesota.

Sitting with someone for hours of cognitive testing and making them feel comfortable the entire time is harder than it sounds. Emily has spent more than 10 years doing exactly that, and she's remarkably good at it.

Emily holds a degree in Psychology from St. Cloud State University and has assessed both children and adults across a wide range of evaluation contexts. She brings the same careful attention and calm presence to every patient she works with, because she knows that accurate results start with a person feeling settled enough to do their best.

Before you ever sit down for an evaluation, SuLynn is already working to ensure your experience at Clary Clinic feels nothing like what you might expect from a medical office.

As Clinic Director, she oversees everything from daily operations and patient coordination to community outreach, bringing years of leadership across nonprofit, healthcare, and coaching. But what sets her apart isn't the resume. She has a genuine gift for making complicated or intimidating processes feel manageable, and patients don't just feel handled; they feel cared for. She's often the first voice you hear when you reach out, and that's not an accident.

A new school year is a fresh start. But if this year left your child struggling, confused, or exhausted by things that seemed to come easily to other kids, a fresh start might need more than a new backpack.

A neuropsychological evaluation can help you finally understand what is going on and give your child's teachers the roadmap they need from day one.

We are currently booking into July, so there is still time to get answers before the fall. No referral needed. Call us at 320-247-4068 or visit claryclinic.com to get started.

ADHD and anxiety can look almost identical from the outside. Both cause trouble focusing, restlessness, trouble sleeping, and avoiding tasks that feel overwhelming. That overlap is exactly why so many people get treated for one when the other, or both, is actually driving the problem.

Here is the key difference Dr. Lee explains to patients: in anxiety, the brain is locked onto worry, which causes distraction. In ADHD, the brain genuinely struggles to regulate attention, even when there is nothing to be worried about at all.

Getting the diagnosis right is not a box to check. It changes what you do next, and how much of it actually helps.

She has friends. She does well in school. Her teachers use words like "sweet," "a little anxious," and "such a perfectionist." Nobody has ever flagged a thing.

But at home, after a full day of holding it together, she falls apart. And you don't know why.

Here's what a lot of parents don't know: many autistic girls are remarkably good at blending in. They study how other kids behave, learn the social rules, and mirror what they see. From the outside, everything looks fine. The effort that it takes is invisible.

If your gut is telling you something is off, that instinct is worth taking seriously. Dr. Lee wrote about this in detail at claryclinic.com.
