Missing Cindy ๐Ÿ’”She loved music, and Ms. Jetta was very fortunate to continue music sessions with Cindy until the week before we lost her to Alzheimerโ€™s. Ms. Jetta marvels at the power of music and how it was always the golden bridge that could connect Cindy to her awareness and memories. We love and miss you, Cindy. Although we wish we had more time with you, we are grateful for the time we had. If anyone wants to share a pic or story, feel free to do so in the comments below.

Dear Families,

It is with deep sadness that I share the news of the passing of one of our beloved students and friends, Cindy Casper. Cindy passed away peacefully yesterday, surrounded by her family.

Many of you know that Cindy's family has been an important part of the Adaptive Arts community; her sister-in-law, Ms. Kathy, and niece, Ms. Rachel, are both members of our teaching team. We ask that you please keep the Casper family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Cindy recently celebrated her 50th birthday in April. As can happen for some individuals aging with Down syndrome, she faced the challenge of Alzheimer's disease in recent years. While our hearts are heavy with this loss, we choose to focus on celebrating Cindyโ€™s life, her accomplishments, and the many joyful memories we shared together.

In the coming weeks and months, we will be sharing stories and photos of Cindy on our social media pages as we honor her legacy and the countless ways she touched our lives.

Cindy brought joy, advocacy, determination, laughter, and friendship to our community. She truly rocked in so many ways, and she will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Many of us knew and loved Cindy, and your child may need some additional support, as grief is hard on everyone. Please let us know how we can support you and your loved ones during this time. We may need to lean on you a little, too.

With love and sympathy,
Jetta Cruse, Director

Please help us welcome Leo Vesprini to our Adaptive Artsโ€™ teaching team. Leo is our co-drum instructor. He has mad skills on the full kit and was part of a drum corps in high school. We call him โ€œthe double-bass king!โ€ Heโ€™s a super swell guy, kind, fun to be with, and we are happy that he is part of our team ๐ŸŽถ
