🍽 Fasting Friday!

Ever wonder why some imaging exams require you to fast beforehand? It helps us get the best possible images and keeps you safe.

For many contrast CT and MRI exams:
✅ Fasting can help reduce the chance of nausea after receiving contrast.
✅ It also helps ensure your exams goes as smoothly as possible.

For certain ultrasound exams (like gallbladder or upper abdomen):
✅ Fasting keeps the gallbladder full of bile so we can see it clearly.
✅ It also reduces gas in the stomach and intestines, which can block important structures.

Not every exam requires fasting, so always follow the preparation instructions specific to your appointment. If you're ever unsure, give us a call... we're happy to help! 💙

Favorite Exam: MRI Lumbar Spine- "It's easy to perform, comfortable for the patient, and it often gives people the answers they need to start feeling better."

🩻 Ashley (CT/X-ray Technologist)
Favorite X-ray: Hand X-ray- "They're quick, patients stay comfortable, and you never know when you'll find a really interesting fracture."

Favorite CT: CT Abdomen & Pelvis- "No two exams are exactly alike. The way we perform the scan changes depending on what the provider is looking for, so even if I scan 10 abdomen/pelvis exams in one day, each one can be a little different. It keeps every day interesting!"
