At Providence Mount Carmel Hospital, our expanded and remodeled wound care clinic now carries the name of Mary Selecky. Mary served as the Washington State Secretary of Health from 1999 to 2013. She was a trusted leader, a member of our Community Mission Board, and a familiar face in Colville.

In her final years, she took a hard fall that brought her to Mount Carmel Hospital to experience our wound care clinic herself. It only made sense that when the clinic was expanded and remodeled, we named it after this champion for rural health care.

Today, the Mary Selecky Wound Care Clinic reflects her legacy and our shared commitment to caring for this community.

Being out of breath isn’t unusual for Warner Slater. At 61, he’s an avid mountain biker who spends as much time as he can outdoors in Colville, and slowing down isn’t something he’s used to.

But in December 2025, something felt different.

One visit to Providence Mount Carmel Hospital led to life-saving heart surgery at the Providence Heart Institute in Spokane.

And now, he’s back to doing what he loves. ❤️🚴

At Providence St Luke’s Rehabilitation Medical Center's Stroke Awareness Day brought patients and therapy teams together in a hands-on way. Throughout the day, inpatient and outpatient therapists worked with individuals to try new activities and build their confidence in real time.

We heard from patients who shared how much this care has meant in their recovery and what it feels like to get back to doing what they love.

We are in the final days to give back at Costco for local kids 💛

When you check out at Costco this month, you’ll see an option to donate to Children's Miracle Network. Every dollar stays local and supports care at Providence Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital. You might even see our local patient and Children's Miracle Network National Champion Mira on the Lucky Charms boxes!

Donations help fund the critical care kids need, along with pediatric equipment, child life services that bring comfort during hospital stays, and support for families navigating some of the hardest moments.

An ordinary night at home changed everything. Andrew Jenkins suddenly couldn’t speak. He was having a massive stroke.

He was rushed to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center for lifesaving care and his long road to recovery. This Stroke Awareness Month, we encourage everyone to know the signs of a stroke. Every second matters.

This Stroke Awareness month, we are highlighting a Providence patient who was treated for a stroke at Sacred Heart Medical Center and St. Luke's Rehabilitation Medical Center.

Michael acted quickly and is getting his independence back.

During Stroke Awareness Month, his story is a reminder that recognizing the signs and getting care fast can make all the difference. After his stroke, Michael began therapy at Providence St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Medical Center and is now rebuilding strength and even practicing driving in our simulator.

With the right care and support, he is working his way back to the life he loves.
