Lola Alvina Franklin

~ A Celebration of Life ~

Lola Alvina [Carr] Franklin passed from this life on August 21, 2026 into the presence of the Lord, Whom she served all her life.

She was born to Claud Clarence Carr and Alvina Louise [Thorman] Carr on October 16, 1925 in Kaw City, Oklahoma.

During the Dust Bowl years of 1930-1940, Lola and her family moved to different farms around Okmulgee, OK and Ark City, KS. For several years, their family lived in small towns so their father could work at local factories. Later, their family returned to full-time farming.

Lola graduated from Ark City High School in the spring of 1943, when World War 2 was in full operation. She entered the retail work force employed by JC Penney stores. One year later, she moved to Ottawa, KS to assist in the war effort, working at the local Tent and Awning factory.

In 1945, Lola entered Central Bible College in Springfield, MO where she pursued biblical studies. One year later she met Donald Franklin who also attended Central Bible College. They were married on her 22nd birthday on October 16, 1947.

After moving to southern California and Don graduating from Chiropractic College, two sons were born, with the family settling in Garden Grove, CA.

After moving to Lawton, OK they entered full-time ministry. Later they moved to Dallas, TX; Springfield, MO; Battle Creek, MI; Kansas City, MO; Houston, TX; Harrison, MI; Eagle Rock, MO then retired in Springfield, MO.

Lola was an avid traveler, making trips across America with Don to visit friends, family and enjoy the sights. She always considered Springfield her home and decided to retire there.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Donald Franklin and her sister Ruth [Richard] Pettis.

She is survived by her 2 sons; Steve [Julie] Franklin and David Franklin, Becky Franklin

10 grandchildren; Sally Franklin, Mary Rugh, Ashley [Coty] Green, Victoria Arbour, Olivia [Trenton] LaVergne, Charity [Tyler] Waddington, Starr [Sean] Borroughs, Ben Franklin, Tyler [Sarah] Franklin, and John [Erin] Franklin.

23 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brother Owen [Norma Lee] Carr

Kenneth Lee McQuarry

Ken McQuarry was born on September 1, 1945, in Mexico, Missouri, to Betty and Frank McQuarry. He grew up in Mexico before moving to Branson in the 1970s, where he spent many wonderful years. He later moved to Springfield, where he had the special opportunity to work closely alongside his son.

Ken was preceded in death by his wife, Dianna McQuarry; his parents, Betty and Frank McQuarry; and his brother, Gary McQuarry.

He is survived by his son, Chris McQuarry and his wife, Roxie, of Springfield, Missouri; his daughter, Christy Rice and her husband, Brian, of Branson, Missouri; his sister, Barbra Jean Adams of Auburn, Alabama; and his brother, Karl McQuarry of Evergreen, Alabama.

Ken’s greatest pride and joy was his family, especially his six grandchildren: Katelynn, Joe, Austin, and Morgan McQuarry, and Bristol and Harlow Rice. He was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Kannon, Kayden, and Kayson.

Ken loved fishing, playing golf, and spending every moment he could with his family. The time they shared and the memories they created meant more to him than anything. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Truman Healthcare, c/o Ken McQuarry memorial, 206 West First Street, Lamar, Missouri 64759. The staff at Truman Healthcare loved Ken dearly and provided him with exceptional and compassionate care. Donations will help purchase a memorial bench to be placed in the courtyard where Ken enjoyed taking his walks.

Jeffrey "Jeff" Robert Bagg

Jeffrey “Jeff” Robert Bagg, 58, passed away August 21, 2026 in his Springfield home.

He was born October 16, 1967 in Hinsdale, Illinois to Maryan and Robert Bagg. Jeff attended Reeds Spring high school, studied at Southwest Missouri State University, and then joined the military service to serve his nation.

Jeff proudly served our country in the US Navy served two deployments, including Operation Desert Storm. He honorably served until April 1991. Jeff later got into the food industry and enjoyed a career in food and equipment sales. There wasn’t a restaurant that Jeff ate at that didn’t get a business card offering a new kitchen set up! Jeff loved to fish more than anything and had the friends and stories to go with.

He was proceeded in death by his father. Jeff is survived by his beloved daughters, Madison Battermann of Boone, NC and Rachel Bannister of Branson, MO. Above all, Jeff was a devoted father who deeply loved his daughters. They were his greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. He was equally devoted to his most recent stage of life when he became Pops for his two Granddaughters, Zuriah and Ivanelle.

His funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in Cherry Street Baptist Church with Dennis Jennings officiating under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home: 500 E. Walnut St. and a Graveside Service will follow at 11:00 am at Missouri Veterans Cemetery: 5201 South Southwood Road, Springfield, MO 65804, with Full Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Ozark Public Television, the Veterans Association, and the Boys Ranch.

Tommy Gene Brown

Tommy Gene Brown, 70, of Springfield, Missouri, passed peacefully at home on August 20, 2026.

Tommy was born on February 22, 1956, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Thomas A. and Ena M. Brown. He grew up with grit, faith, and a love for wideopen spaces — qualities that shaped the rest of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sons TJ and Levi; his wife, Ruby; his brother Gary and Gary’s wife, Betty; and his sister, Darlene Yachik.

He leaves behind his sisters Ginger Mallette (Mike) and Beverly Gomez, along with generations of nieces and nephews who adored him.

Tommy joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1974, carrying a lifelong respect for service members and a fierce devotion to God and country. In his younger years, he lived the cowboy life, traveling the rodeo circuit and collecting stories he loved to share. He also found joy in the outdoors — whether he was hunting, casting a fishing line, or spending a quiet afternoon on the golf course.

Twelve years ago, he settled in Springfield, where he found a community that embraced him. The friends he made there became his chosen family, and he cherished each of them.

Tommy will be remembered for his loyalty, his humor, his stubborn strength, and the way he loved the people around him.

Bobby Gene Winton (Bob)

Bob passed peacefully on August 13th, 2026 at home per his wishes.

Bob was 65 years old.

He was born in Lawrence, KS and moved to Kissee Mills, MO at the age of 14. He graduated from Forsyth High School and worked most of his life as a lineman.

Bob married Regina Trotter on December 31st, 1987 and they were together 40 years.

He is survived by his wife Regina, his brother Terry & wife Angela, 13 nieces & nephews, 26 great nieces & nephews, and many friends. He never met a stranger.

Bob loved the outdoors and being at the lake. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

A Celebration of Life will be held September 12th, 2026 at 4032 New Hope Rd Fordland, MO 65652 from 1pm-6pm for friends and family to come and go.

Brenda Kay Baughman

Brenda K. Baughman, 69, from Springfield, Missouri, passed away in her sleep on the morning of August 19, 2026 in her Springfield home.

She loved to sing, and play games. She loved her children and family. She was a proud mother and grandmother. She loved fantasy shows, action movies, and Stephen King books. She was a very kind and generous woman who would help anyone no questions asked. She made everyone who met her feel welcome and loved.

Throughout her life she had a variety of jobs, from bartending, to housekeeping, to factory work before finally retiring in the 2010's after a five year bout with cancer, that she won.

She will be forever loved and missed by her family, Mary Fields (sister), Carl and Ellen Shipley (brother in law and sister), Michael Brown (son), nieces, nephews, cousins, and her many friends and neighbors that considered her family.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Ira and Dorothy Fields; and brothers, Danny and Rodger Fields.

She was survived by her sons, Danny and Michael Brown.

The family will be holding a Celebration of Life for Brenda in September, TBD. They will notify everyone as soon as final arrangements are made.

David Bergen Adams

On August 17, 2026, David Bergen Adams passed peacefully after a short illness. David was born on 13 February 1937, to Bergen and Florance (Stinnett) Adams in Springfield, Missouri.

David attended high school and university in Springfield and undertook graduate studies in Latin American history at the University of Texas at Austin. David was awarded a Woodrow Wilson Fellowship in support of her graduate work.

It was at UT that David met the love of his life, Meredith Lentz. David and Meredith were married in 1961. In 1966, David and Meredith spent half the year in Mexico while David continued his research in colonial Tlaxcalans in Coahuila and Nuevo León. David continued to research and travel throughout Mexico for most of his life, spending summers in Saltillo, Coahuila’s archivo municipal. Through the relationships he built in Saltillo, David donated more than 500 books to the library of the School of Social Sciences. Many of those books came from the Friends of the Library book sales.

David and Meredith moved to Springfield in 1966 to teach Latin American history at what became Missouri State University. David and Meredith shared a love of travel, especially to New Mexico, Quebec, and North Carolina. Teaching was only one of David’s passions. He was an avid gardener, growing flowers he shared with the church as well as various other lucky recipients around town. David would spend hours at the university and then go to the garden to w**d.

David is survived by daughters, Mariya and Jessica, four grandchildren, Marya, Manson, Megan and Heathon, three great-grandchildren, and numerous friends he met along the way. David was preceded in death by his wife, Meredith, his parents, and brother.

A celebration of life will be held on September 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, located at 925 E. Seminole Street in Springfield, Missouri, under the care and direction of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Greene County Friends of the Library or a charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank the doctors and caregivers at the Manor at Elfindale as well as Ashley and Ladonna from Amada Senior Care. A special thanks goes to the friends David made in the various restaurants he went to daily, especially Stacey, Mindy and the gang at Pizza House.

Eugene Calvin Clingman

Eugene Calvin Clingman Sr. passed away in Ozark, Missouri, just twelve days shy of his 98th birthday. While he fell short of his goal of reaching 100—as well as the 99½ years achieved by two siblings—he did beat his father’s 91 years. Born to Arthur Henry and Cora May Clingman in Cedar Falls, Iowa, Eugene spent his youth there, where he performed as a drummer in the school band, before moving to South Gate, California, during his senior year of high school.

Around 1950, Eugene served in the California National Guard, working in a logistics warehouse reclaiming World War II-era equipment. He later became a Doctor of Chiropractic, proudly following a deep family tradition; his father, mother, two uncles, and an aunt all graduated from the Palmer School of Chiropractic in 1917. Gifted with a versatile entrepreneurial spirit, Eugene also built successful careers as a contractor, mortgage broker, and real estate broker.

Eugene was the youngest of his siblings, preceded by Verna, Laurence, Lloyd, and Warren. His roots in America ran remarkably deep. His great-great-great-grandfather, Capt. John Michael Clingman, served in the Revolutionary War, and his great-great-grandfather, Pvt. George Washington Clingman, served in the War of 1812. (Family records identify George’s brother as the Jacob Clingman who was central to the Alexander Hamilton affair with Maria Reynolds in 1792. Maria famously hired Aaron Burr as her divorce attorney in 1793 and, in 1795, Jacob married Maria.)

Eugene’s grandfather, Pvt. Henry Clay Clingman, served in the Union Army during the Civil War and stood guard at the State House during President Abraham Lincoln's funeral. This extensive history was documented by Eugene's sister, Verna, who published a family genealogical book. His family has continued this military legacy with Eugene's son serving in the Navy, a grandson in the Army, and a granddaughter in the U.S. Coast Guard.

Outside of his professional life, Eugene was a long-time Ham Radio operator (W6GOF) and involved in his community through the Rancho Bernardo Chamber of Commerce and the Poway Pony Club. He spent his final year and a half at the Ozark Baptist Home, where he was beloved as a friendly, outgoing man who frequently sang in the mornings and generously gave away his Bingo winnings. During this time, Eugene professed a Christian faith that brought him profound peace and assurance as he approached the end of his journey.

Eugene was married to and later divorced Dorothea Marie, with whom he shared four children: Eugene Jr., David, Richard Sr., and Deborah. He later married Frances Jean, who remained his devoted wife until her passing in 2016; together, they raised Karina, Thomas, Amanda, and Carina. Following Frances’ death,

Eugene moved to New Hampshire to be near Carina, where he met his dear companion, Eunice Ann. In 2018, Eugene and Eunice relocated to Vista, California, near his son Richard Sr., later moving with him to Springfield, and ultimately, Nixa, Missouri, where Eunice passed away in 2025.

Eugene was preceded in death by Dorothea Marie, Frances Jean, and Eunice Ann, as well as his children Eugene Jr., Thomas, Amanda, and Deborah. He is survived by his children Karina, David, Richard Sr., and Carina, along with an abundance of cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of an immediate public memorial, a family reunion has been arranged by his son, Richard Sr. A Celebration of Life for Eugene will be held in Branson, Missouri, on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with lunch to follow. Sandra Sue Hendrickson

In Loving Memory of Sandra Sue Hendrickson

Sandra Sue Hendrickson, 77, passed away unexpectedly at her home on August 17, 2026.

Sandy was the proud mother of four children and grandmother of six grandchildren. She earned her master's degree in education while raising four children, an accomplishment that reflected the determination and perseverance that defined her life. She was also a breast cancer survivor whose strength inspired those around her.

Teaching was more than a career for Sandy; it was her true calling. As an elementary school teacher for many years, she touched the lives of countless students through her passion, patience, and dedication.

Sandy was a gifted storyteller who loved to write and dreamed of one day publishing a book. She was an avid reader and lifelong learner who almost always had a book in her hand. She approached life with curiosity, creativity, and an endless desire to learn.

She had a vibrant personality and never met a stranger. She loved decorating her home and had a remarkable eye for creating beautiful spaces. Her family likes to imagine that she is already redecorating in heaven. Halloween was her favorite holiday, and her family will always remember the annual haunted house tours and the unforgettable Halloween displays that made her home the envy of the neighborhood.

As a mother, Sandy believed life should be filled with laughter and joy. She could turn late-night cleaning sessions into dance parties and never passed up the opportunity to play a good prank. She was kind, compassionate, and an animal lover. Above all else, she loved her children and grandchildren more than life itself.

Sandy is survived by her three sons, John Halstead (51), Josh Halstead (48), and Jared Snodgrass (37); her daughter, Sarah Selvidge (40); her brother, John Hendrickson; and her six beloved grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Hendrickson; her mother, Mabel Hendrickson; her brother, Ron Hendrickson; and her sister, Sharon Hendrickson.

The family asks for your prayers during this time of sudden and unexpected loss as they remember and celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

William Joseph Hall

William "Bill" Joseph Hall, 80, passed away August 17, 2026 at Springfield Villa in Springfield, Missouri.

He was born September 17, 1945 to Theodore "Roe" and Esther Mae (Sims) Hall in Yukon, Missouri.

Bill was united in marriage to Carolyn Ruth Siegrist on March 4, 1966.

Bill proudly served our country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for many years in the grocery warehouse industry and later in life operated his own electronic business.

Bill came from humble beginnings to become the most devoted husband, father, caregiver, provider and influencer to his incredibly loved family, and many friends who got to know his ambitious personality. He enjoyed visiting with people, teasing and enjoyed life. He will truly be missed.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers and their wives Dean (Margie) Hall of Tyrone, Missouri and Dewain (Hazel) Hall of Houston, Missouri, step son Ronnie Nelson, Springfield, Missouri and great grandson Malachi Cagle, Rogersville, Missouri.

Bill is survived by his wife Carolyn, daughter Rebecca Hall of Ozark, Missouri, sons Randy and Jeannia Hall of Springfield, Missouri and Robert Hall of Las Vegas, Nevada. Two granddaughters Megan Cagle of Rogersville, Missouri and Chelsey and Kyle Stafford of Niangua, Missouri and six great grandsons, one great granddaughter, along with many other extended family members.

A Visitation will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home: 500 E. Walnut Street, Springfield, MO 65806 and a Graveside Service will follow at 1:00 pm at Missouri Veterans Cemetery: 5201 South Southwood Road, Springfield, MO 65804, with Full Military Honors.
