Mercy's MSU Care Clinic MSU Care is a Mercy affiliate clinic that serves uninsured low-income adult patients, ages 18-64, in an enhanced primary care educational environment.

The purpose of MSU Care is to increase healthcare access providing both preventative and chronic care management for uninsured adults with limited or no income through a team-based inter-professional clinical practice. Through collaboration and partnerships with community organizations, MSU Care is committed to provide quality patient outcomes and innovative learning opportunities for healthcare students. Our Mission

MSU Care seeks to understand and serve the health needs of medically underserved adults who live in Southwest Missouri. This includes promoting health in a unique, caring and compassionate patient care environment in which personal dignity and individual diversity are valued. Its implementation is intended to provide all primary care services to patients who are eligible. All care is expected to be given at MSU Care with the exception of referrals to other providers made only by the MSU Care team. We have a Case Manager on site to answer your questions about housing, shelters, becoming employed or applying for Medicaid and/or Social Security Disability. Physical Health

Being healthy--what does that mean? Each of us has a different opinion of being healthy. During your appointment, our providers and the MSU students who see you will make recommendations to improve your physical health, which can improve your quality of life. Behavioral and Emotional Health

Our feelings affect our actions. Stress and life can create anxiety and depression. Sometimes we need help from others to reduce anxiety and help us feel better. We have a representative on site from Burrell Behavioral Health. MSU Care Services

A new chapter in primary care is coming to Northwest Arkansas.

Mercy is proud to open the new Mercy Primary Care Clinic at the heart of Alice L. Walton School of Medicine on the Crystal Bridges Campus, creating a space where whole-person care, innovation and medical education come together.

Beginning Nov. 23, patients age 18 and older will have access to preventive care, annual wellness visits, management of ongoing conditions, immunizations, labs and more.

We're also excited to welcome Dr. Stephanie Sargent, a physician whose background in family medicine and behavioral health reflects the clinic's focus on caring for the whole person.

Appointments are now being scheduled.

Talent is everywhere — you just have to know where to look. October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, and we hosted inclusive hiring events in several Mercy communities to connect with job seekers who might get overlooked in other settings. We are so grateful for this opportunity, and have already extended several job offers as a result!

Lucas has been beating the odds since the day he was born at just 24 weeks.

As a baby, doctors discovered bleeding on both sides of his brain. The bleeding eventually resolved, but Lucas’s neurological journey continued. Years later, testing showed seizure activity on the right side of his brain and he began treatment for a seizure disorder.

Since then, Lucas has faced seizures alongside countless other medical challenges, including chronic lung disease, multiple surgeries and long hospital stays. Through it all, he’s continued reaching milestones his family once wasn’t sure would be possible, from taking his first steps to breathing on his own.

On , Lucas’s story is a reminder that stroke and brain injury can affect even the youngest patients, and symptoms often look different than they do in adult patients. Remember, if you suspect someone is having a stroke, every second counts! Call 911 immediately or go to your nearest ER.

We’re grateful to have been nominated for a 2026 Mid-America Regional Emmy® Award! While our video didn’t take home the award, we’re honored that our social media team’s work to raise awareness about federal cuts to rural health care received this recognition. Helping communities understand issues that could affect their access to care is work that matters!

“It was a complete misnomer the whole time.”

Dr. Catherine Hutz told Leader Publications how renaming Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) to the more accurate Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) could lead to better care for the 1 in 10 women living with this hormonal disorder.

“When they changed the name to Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome, I feel like this encompasses a lot more of the concerns that I have for women who have this condition. I have to think about from the lifespan of what about your risk for diabetes, what about managing your obesity, your high insulin levels.

These are all also important concerns, and I hope that by getting the name changed, not only do patients hopefully move away from thinking, ‘Oh, this means I had a cyst on my ovary’ to more about thinking about what this means for them as a person trying to achieve the greatest health that they can in their lives.”
