At eliseo, new and existing friendships often turn into adventures.

This week, a group of residents organized their own outing, carpooling and hopping on the bus to Seattle to cheer on the Seattle Mariners. While our Community Life team does an incredible job of setting up events, trips, and experiences for our residents, it the connections residents make with one another that often lead to some of the most memorable experiences.

The creativity of our residents was on full display again this week during our first fused glass class. Our residents created some incredible pieces, shared laughs, and proved once again that trying something new never gets old!

The class was such a hit that more sessions are already in the works. Stay tuned for future creations ✨✨✨ A big thanks to Mandarin Stained Glass Shop for the supplies and instruction!

Our campus geese just welcomed a new batch of goslings and they're already making themselves at home.

We are honored to announce that eliseo has been named "Best Retirement Community" by South Sound Magazine for 2026!

This recognition reflects the people who make eliseo what it is - our residents, team members, families, and partners - as well as the broader South Sound community that we're so proud to be a part of. Tacoma and the surrounding area continue to be an incredible place to live, connection, and thrive at every stage of life.

Our campus turned into an art gallery last week 🎨

Our resident art exhibit showcased just how much creativity lives here at eliseo. The talent, perspective, and stories behind the different pieces made it really special. It is safe to say that we're surrounded by some very impressive artists.

At eliseo, we're surrounded by remarkable stories from our residents and their life journeys each and every day. However, some truly stop you in your tracks.

This month Rosa Franklin celebrated her 99th birthday. If that wasn't reason enough to celebrate her, the fact that she was the first black woman elected to the Washington State Senate and was instrumental in helping to launch the nursing program at UW Tacoma certainly is (she worked as an RN before becoming an elected official - an occupation near and dear to our hearts at eliseo).

At eliseo, the stories of our residents and their incredible journeys and accomplishments are a part of what makes this community so special. Happiest of birthdays to you Rosa!

Progress you can see... and nature will feel 🌿🌺🌱

The next phase of our urban habitat development is underway with burlap and mulch now in place around our two remaining detention ponds. The stage is set for the native plantings to come!

This transformation will support local wildlife, improve the quality of water that reaches our waterways, and enhance the natural beauty of our campus.

We are extremely grateful for our ongoing partnership with Pierce Conservation District and the knowledge that they share with us as well as Aardvark Bark Blowing which does such a great job of getting the mulch exactly where it needs to be and leaves everything in extremely tidy afterwards.
