You know that moment when you see his text to your son and before you even finish reading it, you’re already typing?

That’s not you being controlling. That’s a rule that has been running quietly in the background for years… one that says if you let go, something important will fall apart.

So you edit. You clarify. You smooth it out. Even when you KNOW he is capable.

Because somewhere along the way, staying on top of everything became the only way you knew how to feel okay.

And every time you do, that rule gets stronger. Not weaker. 🫤

That rule has a beginning. Which means it has an end. And that’s what we change, so you can become the mom you’re meant to be.

If this landed… save it for the next time your brain tries to tell you this is just who you are.

I’d ask him how the conversation with the kids went.

And then go talk to them myself anyway.

Not because I didn’t trust him. Not because I thought he did it wrong. I just… needed to know they got it. That the edges were smooth. That nothing was left hanging.

I told myself that was being thorough. Being a good mom. Staying on top of things.

But here’s the thing about women who “stay on top of things”:

At some point, staying on top of it stops being a choice. It becomes the only way your body knows how to feel okay.

I know that now. I didn’t know it then.

What I knew then was: I understood patterns. I understood beliefs. I had spent 25 years helping other women figure out exactly why they do the things they do.

And I still couldn’t leave it with him.

Not the kids’ conversation. Not the folded towels. Not the loaded dishwasher. Not the dinner he already made.

I was living inside the exact thing I was trained to see in other people, and I couldn’t see it in myself.

And the hardest part was realizing it wasn’t just how I was wired. It was something I had learned to do.

If you recognize yourself in any of this… drop a 💛 below. I read every single one.

My client handed him the task. And her feet walked her right back in anyway, just to quiet the part of her brain that wouldn’t stop asking… but what if he doesn’t do it right?

For 10 years she thought that if she tried to control less, and just let him do it, eventually this would work.

And all this time, she still ended up checking in. No matter the task.

Her mind was running thoughts that created emotions stirring her up, creating worry and fear. “What if he doesn’t do it right?” So of course the only thing to do to manage the thought and emotion, is to look in on her husband, every time.

That is not a mindset problem. That is a rule creating a pattern that impacts the mind AND the body. And until you work on weakening the rule in both, you will keep finding yourself involved in tasks you already handed off… even when all you did was peek. 😉

This is the EXACT work we do inside A [Re]Newed You.

If this is you, DM me RENEW. Because you deserve to finally trust yourself enough to let him do the tasks.

You handed him the IKEA instructions and walked away.

And then spent the next three hours wondering if it was getting done right.

You did not touch it. You did not redo it. But you could not stop thinking about it either.

You’ve told yourself to let go. You’ve reminded yourself he’s done it before. You’ve tried to make peace with good enough.

And none of it worked. Because none of it got to the actual thing keeping you there.

There is a rule. One your body learned a long time ago to keep you safe. And that rule is the one deciding everything: every thought, every check-in, every time you almost let go and then didn’t.

When we find it and change it, your mind settles. Your body feels safe enough to believe it. And you get to walk away... and mean it.

Relieved. Grateful even. That he had it the whole time.

Save this for the next time you hand something over and still can’t leave it there.

Ready to find your rule? DM me the word RULE.

He showed up. He did exactly what you asked. And you spent the next hour rechecking everything he did anyway.

This is not a trust problem. It is not a communication problem. It is not even really about him.

There is a rule that formed years before you ever had a household to manage, kids to raise, or a husband to ask for help. It decided somewhere along the way that the only way things stay okay is if you are the one holding them.

So it does not matter how willing he is. It does not matter how many times you ask, how clearly you communicate, or how capable he actually is. The rule will find a way to pull it back to you. A reason to recheck. A reason to redo. A reason to just do it yourself next time.

That is not a character flaw. That is a rule doing exactly what it was built to do.

And the moment you can see the rule, you are no longer just stuck inside it.

And until that rule changes… not managed… not worked around, actually changed at the root, you will keep rechecking, redoing, and carrying it. Even when someone capable is standing right there ready to take it.

Save this if it landed.

Everyone keeps handing you tools to manage the load better. Better time management. Communication exercises. Stress management techniques. And they help… for a little while.

But the weight always comes back.

Because nobody stopped to ask why you picked it up in the first place. 😢

That is where I am different. I do not start with the symptoms. I start with the WHY. And I go deep, because the real answer is buried under years of experiences, expectations, and a rule you have been following so long you stopped questioning it.

That rule did not come out of nowhere. It formed from everything you lived through… what you watched, what you learned, what you decided early on had to be true in order for things to feel okay. And because it has been there for so long, your nervous system treats it like fact.

But it is not fact. It is a rule. And rules can be found. And rewritten. 💯

That is the work I do. Finding why you picked it up, and finally putting it down for real.

If you have tried everything and the weight keeps coming back, this is why. And there is a way through it.

You want to stop being the only one responsible for everything.

You asked him to help. He said yes. You were happy.

And then that nudge showed up. That quiet pull that said… go check on it.

You don’t want to check. You know he’s capable. You remind yourself of that. But something keeps sending you back in anyway… and right now you don’t know how not to.

Here’s what’s really happening.

That part of you that keeps going back in? It’s not about him. It’s not about whether he did it right or wrong. It’s a rule that formed, through the experiences you had, the things you learned along the way. One that kept things from going wrong. But now it’s keeping you stuck.

And once you know what that rule is… you can finally start to change it.

That’s how you get your time back. Your energy back. Your peace back.

You’ve been carrying this on your own long enough. And it’s time to feel what it’s like to finally put some of it down. 😘
