Did you know some eyeglass lenses are designed to help slow childhood nearsightedness (myopia)?

Essilor Stellest® lenses correct a child’s vision and have a clear center surrounded by tiny lenslets. The lenslets create a special focus pattern that may help slow myopia progression. The FDA has authorized them to slow progression in children who begin treatment between ages 6 and 12.

Wolf Eye Center offers Stellest lenses. If your child is nearsighted, ask our eye care team whether they may be an appropriate option. Stellest lenses don’t cure myopia or guarantee that progression will stop.

Welcome Dr. Michael Madsen, DO! 👋

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Michael Madsen to our team! As a fellowship-trained specialist in Cornea and External Disease, Dr. Madsen brings extensive expertise in both surgical interventions and long-term eye care to help our patients achieve their best possible vision.

Get to know Dr. Madsen:
• Education & Training: After graduating from Brigham Young University (2002) and earning his D.O. at Midwestern University (2007), Dr. Madsen completed his Ophthalmology Residency through SAUSHEC and a Cornea and External Disease Fellowship at the University of Minnesota.
• Life Outside the Clinic: Dr. Madsen loves spending time with his wife and five children. You’ll often find him hiking, working out, cheering on BYU sports, or reading up on history and current events.
• Fun Facts: He has visited over 30 countries and speaks fluent Norwegian, passable German, and a bit of several other languages!
