Happy Fourth of July!
This year has special significance as America commemorates 250 years of independence. For two and a half centuries, our nation has been defined by resilience, perseverance, and the shared commitment to building stronger communities. It is a time to reflect on our history, celebrate our achievements, and remember the countless individuals whose sacrifices have helped preserve the freedoms we enjoy today.

We are grateful for the funeral professionals throughout our state who serve families with compassion, dignity, and care, helping them navigate life's most difficult moments while honoring the memories of their loved ones.

As we celebrate this historic milestone, let us also look toward the future with optimism and gratitude. May we continue to uphold the values of service, integrity, and respect that strengthen our communities and inspire future generations.

Father's Day is a time to celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures who have helped shape our lives through their love, guidance, strength, and support. It is also a day that can bring a mix of emotions for those who are missing a father who is no longer with them.

Cranston Family Funeral Home of Fairfield, Iowa, is celebrating the success of its first-ever Remembrance Walk, held this past Saturday. What began as a simple opportunity for the community to gather and honor loved ones grew into something truly special, and the funeral home shared that its team was deeply touched by the number of people who came out to take part.

The response to this event was heartwarming and many of this year’s attendees have already asked whether the walk will return. Jeremy and Jamie Cranston, owners of the funeral home, have confirmed it will and the community can always refer to their website www.cranstonfamilyfuneralhome.com for more information in the following months. Jeremy and Jamie say they look forward to creating additional opportunities for remembrance, reflection, and connection in the months ahead.

Jeremy and Jamie extended its thanks to everyone who attended, along with several special acknowledgments. Tom Adam was recognized for capturing the event from above with his drone, while Maasdam Barns and Tony Webb were thanked for handling all of the setup and cleanup. They also expressed gratitude to the volunteers from Jefferson County Health Center including the beloved "Potty Patrol" for helping make the morning possible.

Above all, Jeremy, Jamie, and the staff at Cranston Family Funeral Home thanked the community for walking alongside them and for helping make this first Remembrance Walk such a meaningful morning.

Congratulations to a long-time Iowa Funeral Directors Association Member, Tim Bachman, AKA Bubbles the Clown on your well deserved retirement! 🎊

We look forward to seeing you at our Annual IFDA Convention in 2027!🥳

A man better known as Bubbles the Clown for the Shriners has also walked alongside those preparing to say goodbye to a loved one. Tim Bachman has witnessed much laughter and tears in his 40 years of service, as he prepares to retire.
