Robotic shoulder surgery is coming to Adelaide!
Last weekend I was in Sydney for the Stryker Masters in Shoulder Arthroplasty — a focused meeting centred on early outcomes and the learning curve with the Mako shoulder robot. Always good to catch up with interstate friends and travel with likeminded Adelaide shoulder surgeons.
Many great talks including three surgeons that shared their firsthand mako robot experience: (Maroochydore), (Perth), and Levi Morse Townsville). Honest, granular presentations — exactly the kind of data that matters when you’re evaluating a new platform. International guest speaker added further depth to the discussion around where robotic shoulder surgery is heading.
I’ve been selected to introduce the Mako 4 robotic platform at Eastwood Private Hospital, with surgery commencing in September. It’s the newest iteration of the system, and I’m looking forward to bringing this technology to patients in Adelaide 🦾
