If you’ve been to Pilates at Edge, chances are you’ve met Tamara! With a wealth of experience, she’s been part of the Edge family since 2021 and is our resident Pilates guru. 💪🧘‍♀️

We’re also excited to announce that Tamara will soon be opening the brand-new Reformer Pilates Studio at Edge! 🎉 It’s been a long time coming, and we can’t wait to share it with you all.

THE EDGE FIT & WELL RUN CLUB with JASON

At Edge Fit & Well, we’re all about building a healthier community, and our Run Club is just another way we bring people together.

Whether you’re training for an event, working towards your first 5km, getting some extra steps in, or simply looking to connect with great people, everyone is welcome. There are no expectations, no pressure, and no one gets left behind.

Not a runner? That’s perfectly fine — we walk too.

Bring your family, bring a friend, bring the dog, or come on your own. Our Run Club is relaxed, supportive, and suitable for all fitness levels. It’s about moving your body, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with like-minded people who want to look well, feel well, and be well.

📍 Wednesday at 6am
📍 Meet out the front of the gym. Communication will be via our Community Page for members or our website for non-members.

Afterwards, we’ll often grab a coffee and relax in the gardens to chat, because some of the best parts of fitness happen outside the gym walls.

Come for the movement. Stay for the people.

🔥 TECHNICAL TUESDAYS 🔥

Welcome back! Today we’re talking about how to execute a lunge properly 👏

✔️ Keep your feet hip width apart when you step back — this creates stability and balance through the movement.
✔️ Hinge slightly forward to target the glutes more efficiently.
✔️ Transfer your weight into the FRONT leg, not the back leg.
✔️ Drop the back knee straight down.
✔️ Push through the front heel on the way down and back up.

Lunges are all about control, balance and stability — not rushing the movement 👌

Meet Michelle… or as Aussies call her, “Shaz” 😂

Michelle has been a solid part of the team for the last 2 years, and you’ll usually find her on reception having a chat with everyone… or stopping you at the door if you haven’t swiped in yet 👀😂

She also makes a pretty great coffee ☕️

🚨 TECHNICAL TUESDAYS 🚨

Today’s focus: CLEAN & PRESS 🏋️‍♀️

I see way too many people swinging the bar instead of controlling the movement — this can lead to lower back pain and injuries.

✔️ Start with an upright row first — NOT a swing
✔️ Bend your knees as the bar reaches your collar bones
✔️ Press the bar overhead with control
✔️ Catch the bar back at your collar bones with soft knees again
✔️ Reset the bar down CLOSE to the body in a controlled reverse movement — NOT SWINGING AWAY FROM YOU!

The clean & press is used in multiple classes, so it’s important to learn how to execute it properly.

You’ll see these in:
• Body Pump
• Body Pump Heavy
• GRIT
• Edge Fit

Technique is one of my biggest priorities as a PT here, and I’d love to help you move safely and confidently 💪
