🌈 World Pet Memorial Day 🌈
Today, we remember.
We remember the paws that followed us everywhere, the noses that greeted us at the door, the purrs, the zoomies, the quiet companionship, and the unconditional love that changed our lives forever.
If you are missing a beloved pet today, please know that your grief is valid. The love you shared was real, and so is the pain of their absence. Our pets are family, and when they leave us, they leave paw prints on our hearts that never truly fade.
Today is a day to speak their name, share their photo, tell their story, light a candle, or simply sit quietly with the memories that make you smile and cry at the same time.
They may no longer walk beside us, but the love they gave remains woven into who we are.
To every pet guardian carrying a broken heart today, we see you. We remember with you. ❤️
🐾 Please share your beloved pet's name and a ❤️ in the comments so we can honour and remember them together.

Does today feel heavy?
Do you feel lonely, even when you're surrounded by people?
Grief can be confusing like that.
It doesn't only arrive after a death. Grief can show up after a diagnosis, the loss of a dream, or watching someone you love change before your eyes.
Some days it feels loud and overwhelming. Other days it sits quietly in the background, making everything feel a little harder than usual.
If today feels heavy, know that grief doesn't follow a timeline, and it rarely behaves in the way we expect it to.
Be gentle with yourself. Honour where you are today, not where you think you 'should' be.
💜 What is one thing that has helped you navigate grief or loss? Share below, your experience may help someone else feel a little less alone.

As the weather cools down, many older pets start to feel the effects of arthritis a little more.
You might notice they sleep more, hesitate before jumping, avoid stairs, or seem less interested in activities they once loved.
But here's a question worth asking

Is your pet living... or simply existing?
Those are two very different things.
A pet doesn't have to be running marathons to have a good quality of life. But they should still be finding joy in their days, enjoying meals, seeking affection, exploring the garden, going for sniffaris, or curling up comfortably beside you.
Pain often creeps in gradually, making it easy to miss the signs. What we sometimes put down to 'old age' may actually be discomfort that can be managed.
If you're unsure, start keeping a daily quality of life diary, a great resource is 'Fur the Broken Hearted'
and speak with your veterinarian about a pain assessment.
Remember, you don't have to navigate this journey alone. Speak with your vet or contact Paws for Talk so we can work collaboratively to support both you and your beloved companion.

Our senior pets deserve more than just getting through each day. They deserve to enjoy them. ❤️🐾
What changes have you noticed in your senior pet as the weather has cooled down?

Dont come for me… but I had to say it.

You may be told, ‘You’ll know when it’s time to say goodbye to your fur loved one,’ or ‘They’ll tell you when it’s time for euthanasia.’
Look… maybe you will. Maybe they will.
But I really wish people would stop handing out this advice like it’s guaranteed because… maybe you won’t know. Maybe they won’t ‘tell’ you. And that does NOT mean you loved them any less.
Sometimes the decision comes with clarity.
Sometimes it comes with guilt, confusion, second guessing, and heartbreak.
Sometimes our beloved pets keep eating, wagging tails, or seeking cuddles right until the end while their body is quietly struggling.
End-of-life decisions are rarely black and white. They are heavy, complicated, and deeply personal.
Please stop making grieving pet parents feel like they failed if they didn’t receive some magical ‘sign.’ 💔🐾

Have you ever felt pressure from this advice or experienced this yourself? I’d really love to hear your thoughts and experiences in the comments.

There’s something incredibly special about loving a senior pet.
The slower walks, the grey faces, the knowing eyes… and the quiet awareness that time suddenly feels far too precious.
If you have a senior pet, now is the time to start preparing your heart gently, before crisis, for you and fir them. 💔
Fur the Broken Hearted was written to support pet lovers through anticipatory grief, loss, and the deep love we carry for our animals. This book offers comfort, understanding, and a reminder that you never have to walk this journey alone.
Available now on Amazon, or you can contact Paws for Talk directly to order your copy. 🐶📖

You’ve become so good at saying 'I’m okay' when people ask how you are… but your body knows that’s not the truth.
Grief shows up. And sometimes it shows up ugly.
At 2am when you suddenly sit upright in bed, your body feeling like it’s under threat.
In the heavy pit in your stomach that just won’t ease.
In the exhaustion, the tears, the ache you can’t explain.
Are you really okay?
You don’t have to carry grief or anticipatory grief alone. Sharing your pain with someone who truly understands can help lighten the weight, even just a little. 💜
