“What if I say the wrong thing?”

It’s one of the most common reasons people stay silent.

But staying silent often means missing the chance to support someone who needs it.

Mental Health First Aid training helps you feel more confident in those moments.

It’s not about perfect words. It’s about knowing how to respond.

We have upcoming courses available and we also offer group training tailored for workplaces and organisations.

So many of us avoid mental health conversations, not because we don't care, but because we don't feel confident about what to say.

Pakari delivers accredited Mental Health First Aid training to help you build the confidence to start having those conversations when they matter most.

Would you know what to say if someone opened up to you today?

Pakari is proud to announce a partnership with Vic Masters Rugby as their official Mental Wellness Partner.

Vic Masters Rugby is a statewide community of over 35s rugby clubs across Victoria, united through a shared love of the game, connection and mateship.

We’re honoured to support a competition that values its people, both on and off the field and brings players together from clubs across the state.

In Māori, Pakari means strength and resilience, something reflected in the spirit of Vic Masters Rugby and the way teammates show up for one another.

We look forward to standing alongside the Vic Masters community in strengthening that culture of care and connection with the first game of the 2026 season kicking off in May.

He was instrumental in the shaping of Pakari, grounded in connection, respect and the principles of Te Whare Tapa Whā.

His leadership and vision remain part of who we are and his impact will continue to be felt for years to come.

We honour his life, his contribution and the legacy he leaves behind.

Even in this day and age, we see a stigma of mental health in the workplace. Talking about mental health isn’t necessarily discouraged outright, but it’s the lack of interest in mental health from higher-ups that creates a culture of grin-and-bear-it, feelings of isolation and the eventual burnout that can be so damaging.

For a workplace to normalise openness around mental health in the office, we believe a top down approach is important. Management needs to see their staff as real people, and take an interest in their wellbeing.

Victoria workplaces now have clear obligations to manage risks and create supportive environments.

Employees also play a role - manage workloads, set boundaries, practice mindfulness, and seek support.

Taking care of your mental health strengthens you, your team and your workplace.
