Phoenix House

Phoenix House Providing supportive, safe, and trusted counselling for people with a lived experience of sexual violence.

Support is available for all genders and ages in the 4670 postcode. Referrals can be completed via our website or call 4153 4299. Phoenix House Association Incorporated has been supporting people living in the Bundaberg region since 1995, originally operating as the ‘Bundaberg Area Sexual Assault Service’. Since that time, we have grown exponentially and now provide a wide range of counselling and

support services to people of all ages, for a variety of reasons, while still providing specialist support to people who have been impacted by sexual violence. We are a non-government and registered charity organisation, with many of our services funded through Federal and State Government grants. We work hard to provide a ‘No Wrong Door’ approach to meeting the mental health, therapeutic, and wellbeing support needs of our local and regional communities. If we are not able to provide direct supports, we will assist you in identifying local services who can. Phoenix House offers telehealth and phone consultations when appropriate, allowing clients who are impacted by barriers like geographic location, transport challenges, or public health concerns like COVID-19, to continue to access to service provision and resources. Phoenix House employees meet a range of disciplines inclusive of: Mental Health Accredited Social Workers, Social Workers, Accredited Counsellors, Qualified Mental Health Support Workers and several other disciplines and volunteers congruent with therapeutic counselling, education, and community support. We welcome Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and provide the option of engaging with one of our cultural liaison staff. We are a diverse workforce and welcome people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds, and those who identify as LGBTQIA+. Outside of office hours please contact the below services

💜 Starting something new can feel a little scary, especially for children.

That's why we've created "When I Visit Phoenix House", a social story designed to help children understand what to expect when they come to Phoenix House for counselling and support.

The story walks children through their visit, from arriving at reception to meeting their counsellor and returning home. It helps children know that they are safe, supported, and that their feelings matter. 💜

We are incredibly grateful to have been selected as recipients of the Dan Murphy’s Regional Giving Program 💙 It's a great feeling to know we have been nominated by the locals who recognise the value of a service like ours.

Today we were gifted a $1000 donation. Support like this helps Phoenix House continue providing compassionate support for people in our community who need it most.

As a not-for-profit organisation, partnerships and community giving make a genuine difference. It all helps us strengthen the work we do every day across our region.

A heartfelt thank you to Dan Murphy’s and everyone involved in supporting regional communities and local services like ours.
