❓ QUIZ FRIDAY ANSWERS ❓

Did you get them right? 👀

Over the past two Quiz Fridays, we tested your first aid knowledge with two bleeding scenarios:
🩸 Question 1: An embedded nail injury
🩸 Question 2: Severe bleeding that isn't controlled with direct pressure

The correct answer for both was B.

The real takeaway isn’t just getting the answer right, it’s knowing how to stay calm, recognise what’s happening, and respond with confidence when it counts.

That’s why we share these scenarios: to help you think through real-world emergencies before you’re faced with one.

Thanks for joining in and keep testing your knowledge.

We’ll be back with another Quiz Friday soon.

🩸Moulage Monday! 🩸

Every few weeks, we'll take you behind the scenes of the simulation-based training used in our courses and showcase the realistic injuries, special effects, and moulage techniques that help prepare people for the reality of emergency situations.

From fake wounds, blood, amputations, and embedded objects to burns, fractures, and realistic medical presentations, you'll see how we create immersive training scenarios in a safe, controlled environment.

👉 Swipe through a recent moulage from one of our First Aid courses in Sydney, featuring an embedded piece of glass in the arm, and see how we created the effect.

At Real Response, we believe people learn best by experiencing realistic scenarios, not just talking about them.

Because when emergencies happen, they don't come with a filter.

Tip Tuesday: In an emergency, knowing how to use equipment correctly can make all the difference.

In this quick demo, we show how to apply effective pressure to help control severe bleeding while avoiding unnecessary pressure on the airway.

If you're a first aider, healthcare professional, emergency responder, or simply want to be better prepared, this is a skill worth learning.

⚠️ Seizures: What To Do In The Moment

When someone is having a seizure, your calm response can make all the difference.

1️⃣ Stay calm & reassure
2️⃣ Make the area safe
3️⃣ Protect their head & position safely
4️⃣ Don’t restrain
5️⃣ Time the seizure
6️⃣ Check breathing & comfort

❌ Don’t:
➤ Put anything in their mouth
➤ Hold them down
➤ Give food or drink until they are fully awake and alert

📞 Call an ambulance if:
➤ You’re unsure or feel you need help
you do not know the person
➤ The seizure lasts longer than 5 few minutes
➤ It’s their first known seizure
➤ They don’t wake up within 5 minutes after the seizure
➤ They have repeated seizures
➤ There’s been a trauma (e.g. fall, head strike)

⚠️ In water or during pregnancy, call an ambulance immediately.

Prepared teams respond better in critical moments.
