๐ This week, some of our team attended the Paradise Lagoon Campdraft โ National Finals as part of our research project exploring the role of campdrafting in rural and remote communities.
The โCampdrafting in Rural Australia: Economic, Social, Cultural, and Health Benefits for Rural and Remote Communitiesโ study, led by researchers from James Cook University, aims to better understand:
๐ด Who participates in campdrafting and why
๐ด The economic and cultural impact of campdrafting on rural communities
๐ด The health and wellbeing benefits of involvement in the sport
๐ด How campdrafting events are supported through training, horsemanship, and local infrastructure
Their insights will help highlight the value of campdrafting in rural communities and inform future rural health and sport policy.
We are incredibly grateful to the Paradise Lagoons Campdraft 2026 organisers, committee, competitors, and wider community for warmly welcoming us to your event and supporting this important research.
