☕🍎 Join us on Tuesday 16th June at Mead Medical Kalamunda for a morning tea in support of the Cancer Council.

June is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, and with Red Apple Day in June (17th June) – Bowel Cancer Australia's official giving day – we're proud to help raise awareness and funds for a cause that impacts so many Australian families.

All donations from our morning tea will go directly to the Cancer Council, supporting vital research, prevention programs, and services for people affected by cancer.

Bowel cancer is one of the most common cancers in Australia, but when detected early, it is one of the most treatable. This month is an important reminder to talk to your GP about screening and to encourage your loved ones to do the same.

We'd love for you to join us for a cuppa, a chat, and a great cause.

June is bowel cancer awareness month! Early detection can save lives so we're promoting bowel cancer screening across all of our patients.

We'll also be hold a Cancer Council Morning Tea later in the month to help raise awareness and gold coins for the Cancer Council.

Dr Eric Cho recently joined Mead Medical having moved from New Zealand. Dr Cho works at both our Kalamunda and Maida Vale clinics and offers weekend appointments as well as weekday appointments.

Today is National Receptionists Day and we want to take a moment to recognise the incredible front-line team at Mead Medical. 💙

Our reception team are so much more than the people who answer the phones and greet you at the desk. They are the calm in the chaos, the friendly face when patients are unwell, the problem-solvers juggling appointments, the reassuring voice on difficult days, and the people who help keep our clinics running smoothly every single day.

Working in general practice is fast-paced and often demanding, and our receptionists handle it all with compassion, patience and professionalism.

To our amazing team — thank you for everything you do for our doctors, nurses, allied health team and, most importantly, our patients and community. Your work never goes unnoticed and Mead Medical simply wouldn’t function without you.

𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑫𝒓 𝑴𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝑴𝒖𝒑𝒇𝒂𝒗𝒂 𝒕𝒐 𝑴𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝑴𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍!

Dr Mildred Mupfava is currently residing in the UK and is preparing to leave the UK this weekend to permantently settle in Perth. She will be joining the Mead Medical team from mid March.

Dr Mildred graduated in medicine from the University iof Zimbabwe in 2010 and has since gained over a decade of clincal experience.

Dr Mupfava moved from Zimbabwe to UK where she completed her GP speciality training further expanding her expertise in general medicine, geriatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology and dermatology. She has a particular interest in minor surgery and joint injections and is dedicated to delivery high-quality, patient centred care with a holistic approach to both accute and chronic health conditions.

Outside of clinical practice, Dr Mupfava enjoys spending time with her family outdoors as well as photography and staying as active as possible.

We're excited to be able to offer GP appointments with Dr Mupfava very soon!

Dr Harveen Singh will be starting to consult at Mead Medical after Easter!

Dr. Harveen Singh is an accomplished General Practitioner with over a decade of clinical experience. She completed her medical education at the University of Southampton, UK, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine (BM) in 2013. Following her graduation, she specialised in General Practice in the UK, achieving membership with the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) in 2020.

Dr. Singh possesses a keen clinical interest in women’s health, sexual health, and mental health. She is committed to ongoing professional development to enhance patient care, recently completing her certification in Aesthetic Medicine with the British Aesthetic Academy (BAAUK), with plans to offer treatments in the near future. She is also trilingual, fluent in Punjabi and Bahasa Malaysia.

After residing in the United Kingdom for 18 years, Dr. Singh has permanently relocated to Perth with her young family to be closer to relatives. She is delighted to join the Mead Medical team and looks forward to contributing to the local community. Known for her patient-centred approach and excellent communication skills, she builds rapport with patients effortlessly.

Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Singh values a healthy work-life balance, enjoying travel, reading, and spending quality time with her family.

Today we celebrate the incredible women who make up the heart of our Mead Medical community.

From our doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals to our reception, administration and leadership teams — women play an essential role in caring for our patients and supporting one another every day.

In healthcare, women show up with compassion, resilience and strength. They advocate for their patients, support their colleagues, and balance countless responsibilities both inside and outside of work.

International Women’s Day is a moment to recognise these contributions, but also to reflect on the importance of continuing to support, empower and create opportunities for women in healthcare and in our wider community.
