This is what smart rehab looks like in 2026.

We’ve got one of our fighting athletes in clinic today, working on getting his VMO and quad muscles firing properly after injury. And here’s the thing, he’s only lifting six kilos.

Not because he’s taking it easy. Because the Neubie is doing something a regular gym session simply can’t.

By running DC current directly through the muscle on a hypertrophy setting, the Neubie is recruiting motor units that have switched off post injury. His muscle has no choice but to activate, all four heads of the quad firing in real time ,without the load and stress that could set his recovery back.

This is the part of rehab nobody talks about. It’s not always about lifting more. Sometimes it’s about getting the right muscles to actually show up first.

Whether you’re a competitive athlete, post surgery, or stuck in a rehab plateau... this is where the gains happen without the risk.

If that last video hit close to home, this one goes deeper. 👇

So many of you reached out after we posted about that nagging hip pain on the side of your hip.

You told us you'd been dismissed, told it was just getting older, told to rest it and see how it goes.
It's not age. It's your oestrogen.

As oestrogen levels drop through perimenopause and menopause, your tendons, including the one that runs your glute med on the outside of your hip, start to lose their integrity.

That's why the pain gets worse the more you walk.
That's why it wakes you up at night when your hip drops. That's what's actually happening.

And here's the good news: it's very treatable when you understand what's driving it.

Over the next few posts, Damien is going to walk you through 4 exercises that directly target this.

Save this post now so you don't lose the series when it comes through.
If you've been dealing with this for a while and want to know whether treatment could help, the link in our bio has a free Discovery Call.

You’ve probably used a TENS machine before. Maybe your physio has one, or you’ve seen them online. And yes, they have their place, but if your rehab has plateaued and your muscles still won’t activate, a TENS machine isn’t going to get you there.

Here’s why. 🤔

A TENS machine runs AC current, it helps manage pain, but it’s not speaking the same language as your brain and muscles.

The Neubie runs DC current, the exact same signal your nervous system uses to tell a muscle to fire.

That difference is everything. 🙌🏽

Post injury, muscles don’t just get weak, they switch off. They become inhibited. And no amount of passive treatment will re-educate them.

The Neubie gives your muscle no choice but to activate. It’s not doing the work for you, it’s reminding your body how to do it itself.

If you’ve been showing up, putting in the effort, and still not seeing the progress you deserve, this could be the missing piece.

Meet the Neubie. And no, it’s not a TENS machine.

If you’ve been doing the rehab, showing up to your sessions, putting in the work, but your muscle still won’t fire the way it should- this is for you. 🙏🏽

Damien breaks down exactly how the Neubie works and why it’s becoming one of the most valuable tools in our clinic for patients recovering from surgery or injury

The difference comes down to language. Your brain and muscles communicate in DC current. Most electrical devices run AC, which your body simply doesn’t recognise the same way. The Neubie speaks the right language, helping inhibited muscles remember how to switch back on.

The best part? You still have to do the work. This isn’t passive treatment. It’s active rehabilitation, just with the right support behind it.

If you’re stuck in your recovery and not seeing the progress you deserve, we’d love to chat.

That nagging ache on the outside of your hip? It might not be what you think.

So many women in their 40s and beyond are told it's arthritis or bursitis, but there's another condition that often gets missed, gluteal tendinopathy.
And if you're going through perimenopause or menopause, you could be even more at risk.

Here's why- As oestrogen levels drop, your tendons become more vulnerable, and the gluteal tendon is one of the first to feel it.

The result? A persistent, nagging pain on the outside of your hip that's worse with walking, sitting cross-legged, or simply changing position.

The good news, there are really effective treatment options available.
Damien shares how focus shockwave therapy is helping our patients get real relief, working deep into the tissue where it's needed most.
If this sounds like you, we'd love to help.

Is shockwave therapy painful? 😣

It’s one of the questions we get asked the most.
Lauren gives you the honest answer, because we believe you deserve to know exactly what to expect before you walk through our door.

There is nothing better than hearing that someone has got their movement back.

Megan came to us struggling with ankle mobility and after working with Liam using the Neubie, she’s been really happy with the progress she’s made.

And honestly, so are we. 🙌🏽

The Neubie is a newer neuromuscular electrical stimulation device we’ve introduced into clinic to help support movement, rehabilitation and recovery as part of a broader treatment approach.

If you’ve been dealing with restricted movement, stiffness, or just feel like your body isn’t responding the way it used to, there may be options worth exploring.

You don’t always have to just push through it.

A good reminder heading into the weekend to listen to your body and give it the support it needs 💙

Run clubs are having a moment right now, and we are here for it.
But if you’ve recently laced up and started noticing that nagging pain at the back of your heel, you are not alone.

Achilles tendinopathy is one of the most common things we see, especially in people who have just picked up running or ramped things up quickly. And yes, that includes the 40-something who joined a run club this winter and is now wondering why their heel hurts every morning.

The good news? It’s treatable.

Here Damien is walking through how Focus Shockwave Therapy works on mid-portion Achilles tendinopathy.

The sound wave actually stimulates Type 1 collagen production, which helps shift the tendon from a degenerative state into a healing one.

Paired with the right rehab, this is a game changer.
If this sounds like you, or someone you know, send this to them.

Your heels will thank you.

As the mornings get colder, it gets harder to find the motivation to move. We get it.

But this is exactly why we love Clinical Reformer Pilates. It’s gentle, it’s low impact, and it meets you where you’re at.

Here Lauren is guiding Nikki through a wood chop to engage the deep core and obliques in a way that feels controlled and supported.

If you’ve been looking for a way to stay active this winter without the strain, this is it.

One of the hardest things about tendon pain is that it rarely feels like it fully goes away.

It settles…
then flares up again.

In this video, Damien explains a little more about what’s actually happening inside the tendon and why treatments like Focus Shockwave Therapy can be helpful for more stubborn cases.

As we age, tendons naturally change.

The structure of the tendon can start to break down, the tissue becomes less resilient, and in some cases small calcium deposits can form through the area as well.

That’s why these injuries can become frustratingly persistent.

Focused Shockwave Therapy is one of the tools we use to help stimulate a healing response within the tendon and support the body’s natural repair process.

If you’ve been dealing with ongoing tendon pain that never quite settles, it might be worth having a conversation with the team.
