🚫 MYTH: "If all my tests come back normal, there's nothing wrong with me."

✅ FACT: Normal test results don't always mean you're experiencing optimal health.

One of the biggest gaps I see in health and nursing conversations is that we often focus on symptoms without looking at the foundations of true wellbeing.

Start in the kitchen.

Choose real, raw ingredients as often as possible. Learn where your food comes from. Cook simple meals from scratch. Fill your plate with vegetables, quality proteins, healthy fats, fruits, herbs, and whole foods that nourish your body.

At the same time, gradually reduce highly processed foods loaded with added sugars, artificial ingredients, preservatives, and refined oils. These foods can contribute to inflammation, poor gut health, energy crashes, and long-term health challenges.

Food is more than fuel—it's information for every cell in your body.

Simple practices such as making your own sauerkraut, incorporating fermented foods, drinking kefir, and learning basic food preparation skills can make a significant difference to your health and wellbeing.

I'm currently looking at bringing cooking classes and food education workshops into my offerings in the near future, helping people gain confidence in preparing simple, nourishing foods at home.

**Are we missing the bigger picture?**

Too often, healthcare focuses on individual symptoms rather than asking *why* those symptoms are happening in the first place.

From a holistic perspective, the body is constantly communicating with us. Fatigue, headaches, digestive issues, poor sleep, skin concerns, anxiety, and other symptoms aren't necessarily random problems to be silenced or ignored—they can be important signals that something deeper may need attention.

Rather than simply masking symptoms, a holistic approach looks at the whole person: lifestyle, nutrition, stress, sleep, movement, environment, emotional wellbeing, and overall health history. By understanding how these pieces connect, we can start uncovering potential root causes and support the body more effectively.

This doesn't mean ignoring medical care or treatment. It means broadening the conversation and considering what your body may be trying to tell you.
