Does your child show differences in play and social communication skills? We offer JASPER therapy, which teaches kids skills for social communication.

JASPER (Joint Attention, Symbolic Play, Engagement and Regulation) is an evidence-based therapy involving play-based sessions.

✅ Studies have shown that kids who participate in JASPER therapy show improvements in joint engagement, social communication and play skills.

Upcoming CliniKids training for allied health professionals! Learn how to provide communication support for parents and caregivers of young autistic children using PACT therapy. 💛

PACT (Paediatric Autism Communication Therapy) is an evidence-based therapy, whereby clinicians coach parents on understanding and responding to their child’s unique communication cues.

In this fun interactive therapy, parents receive feedback on videos of parent-child interactions.

CliniKids are seeking autistic kids aged 8-12 to take part in a new study! We need the help of children and their caregivers to test the effects of a sensory vest on anxiety.

Who can participate? Children who:
💜 Have a diagnosis of autism
💜 Are aged 8 -12
💜 Experience anxiety and sensory problems

What are we investigating?
💡 Many autistic children have trouble processing sensory information, and this can make it difficult for them to regulate everyday emotions.
💡 Specialised clothing has been developed to help keep the sensory system calm - and we want to know if this may help kids manage anxiety.

CliniKids Professor Mirko Uljarevic, based at The Kids Research Institute Australia and The University of Western Australia, has been featured on Nine News discussing his groundbreaking autism research.

Professor Uljarevic’s study will transform clinical practice by ensuring that early supports for autistic and developmentally delayed kids are matched to each unique child’s strengths and needs.

Can wearing a sensory vest support anxiety? Help us find out! Many autistic children have trouble processing sensory information, and this can make it difficult for them to regulate everyday emotions.

Specialised clothing has been developed to help keep the sensory system calm. ​We want to know if this may help children manage anxiety.

We need the help of children and their caregivers to test the effects of a sensory vest on anxiety.

Who can participate? Children who:
🔷 Have a diagnosis of autism
🔷 Are aged 8 to 12 years old
🔷 Have anxiety and sensory problems

The study is being led by La Trobe University and includes two trial sites - one in Melbourne and one in Perth.

In this video, Associate Professor Gail Alvares - the chief investigator of the Perth trial - explains what's involved and who is eligible.
