Today is World Kidney Cancer Day, a global day dedicated to raising awareness of kidney cancer and supporting those affected by the disease.
This year's theme, Kidney Cancer and Emotional Wellbeing, highlights an often-overlooked part of the cancer experience. Research shows that 85% of people diagnosed with kidney cancer face emotional wellbeing challenges, yet many don't talk about how they're feeling with family, friends or their health care providers. A cancer diagnosis affects more than just physical health. It can impact confidence, relationships, mental health and overall quality of life.
At ANZUP, we know that improving outcomes means looking beyond treatment alone. Through research, clinical trials and supportive care initiatives, we're working to ensure people affected by kidney cancer receive the care and support they need to live well.
