Carepoint is closing, but Counterpoint is still here to support people who use substances. Supervised consumption services will no longer be available at 446 York Street after Saturday, June 13. Counterpoint, RHAC’s Needle & Syringe Program (NSP), will continue operations from 446 York Street and 355 Wellington Street (Middlesex-London Health Unit). When it comes to all of our programs, caring is the whole point of what we do. That doesn’t stop once Carepoint closes. Our support for the people we serve remains strong and steady. We will keep caring and we will continue working to keep clients connected to available supports and services. Thank you to the partners, program participants, and community members who are supporting safer and healthier outcomes during this transition.

June is both Indigenous History Month and Pride Month, when we come together to celebrate and recognize the lasting legacies, current realities, and future visions of Indigenous and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. Indigenous History Month is an important opportunity to recognize the diverse cultures, histories, contributions, and inherent rights of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. Pride Month’s celebration of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities reminds us of the historic and ongoing pursuit of equity, justice, and liberation. As we share in solidarity and celebration, we must continue to advance the interconnected struggle for liberation that dismantles colonialism, anti-Indigenous racism, and homophobia, biphobia and transphobia.

We look forward to sharing updates and upcoming events, as RHAC continues to support and celebrate Indigenous and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities all month long—and always.

Carepoint is closing on June 13. But RHAC is still here for you.

In March 2026, the Government of Ontario announced its decision to end funding for supervised consumption services. With provincial funding set to end, Carepoint will be unable to continue providing supervised consumption services after June 13.

This is difficult news to share. We know this closure will be felt deeply by Carepoints clients, staff, families, partners, and community members who care about people who use substances. Your support means so much to us, and it matters more than ever for the people we serve.

As we prepare for Carepoint’s closure, RHAC is responding to the needs and questions of clients, staff, and community. We will continue to provide updates on what is changing, what supports remain available, and where people can go for care, connection, and information. RHAC believes it’s important to preserve history and protect community spaces in the city we call home. Join the collective effort shared by London Black History Coordinating Committee to protect Beth Emanuel, one of London’s oldest surviving Black churches. This landmark holds the stories and memories of Black community members who fled enslavement through the Underground Railroad, seeking freedom and finding community in a place for worship and gathering. Beth Emanuel is not only a historical landmark. The building is a lasting symbol of courage and resilience for present and future generations in the ongoing struggle for liberation and equality. At risk of losing its heritage status, the future of Beth Emanuel now hangs in the balance. RHAC was delighted to receive The Champion of Mental Health & Addiction Award, which highlights individuals and organizations helping to reshape how mental health and addiction are understood and supported in our community. Congratulations to all of this year’s nominees and recipients! RHAC is deeply grateful to everyone in our community whose leadership, advocacy, and service are providing the care and support that people deserve.

May 7th is International Harm Reduction Day. Harm reduction is a critical approach to reducing harms associated with substance use and supporting the well-being of people who use substances, that includes reducing overdose and the spread of HIV and other blood-borne infections. As harm reduction is becoming increasingly restricted, it’s important for service providers to support each other to address gaps in services and understand the unique challenges of harm reduction for women and gender-diverse people. • Open Closet Facilitator (Casual • $25/hour)

Open Closet facilitators co-facilitate the Open Closet (OC) program, an award-winning drop-in peer social support program for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth ages 14-18. In this role, you’ll connect with diverse communities of youth in-person to co-facilitate the Open Closet program. Open Closet sessions take place weekly on Friday evenings.
