Myth or Fact?

You should always rest when you’re injured.

That's a Myth!

Controlled movement and guided exercise and guided exercise often help recovery faster than complete rest.

Have questions about your recovery? We’re here to help.

Pain isn’t something you just “get used to”

It’s common to adjust how you move when something hurts; avoiding certain activities, shifting your posture, or pushing through discomfort.
But over time, those compensations can create new aches and limit how freely you move.

Physiotherapy looks beyond the symptom to understand what’s actually driving the issue, and helps you:

• move more comfortably
• rebuild strength where it’s needed
• return to the activities you enjoy
• prevent recurring pain patterns

You don’t have to “work around” pain forever.

Congratulations to all of the runners who took part this past weekend. Despite the unexpected weather, every one of you persevered and made it to the finish line.

Running long distances takes focus, preparation, and determination. We put our bodies through demanding movement and continue to push past barriers we once thought were difficult to overcome.

It is inspiring to see so many people come together to move, challenge themselves, and achieve their goals.

We also want to give a special shoutout to Jeff, one of our physiotherapists, who ran the 10K this past Saturday, and Laura, our former clinical administrator, who completed the half marathon. We are so proud of them!

National Physiotherapy Month!

May is National Physiotherapy Month, and this year’s theme, Physiotherapy Moves Communities, reflects what we see every day at Physiotherapy on Kent & Main.

Physiotherapy is more than recovery. It is about helping people in our community move better, feel stronger, and return to the things that matter most to them.
As your trusted community clinic in downtown Ottawa for 26 years, we are proud to support individuals at every stage of their journey whether that is managing pain, rebuilding strength, or preventing future injury.

Because for us, it is simple: Exceptional care. Every step of the way.

Thank you for trusting us to be part of your health and your movement.

After the long weekend… how’s your body feeling?

Between extra activity, travel, yard work, or just a change in routine over the Victoria Day weekend, it’s not uncommon to feel it after.

Maybe it’s:

• a sore back after being more active than usual
• tight hips from long drives
• stiffness after a few days out of your normal routine

A little soreness can be normal, but lingering discomfort is your body asking for attention.

Physiotherapy can help you recover, reset, and get back to your regular routine without pain holding you back.

Book an assessment if something still feels off after the long weekend.
