What a wonderful day of celebration we shared with our residents on Canada Day! Our residence was beautifully decorated in red and white, creating the perfect festive atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.

Residents were treated to delicious homemade maple cookies that were served warm right out of the oven, along with refreshing homemade fruit punch. We also enjoyed fantastic live music from Tim Hamill, who had everyone smiling, singing along, and celebrating together.

It was heartwarming to see so many happy faces as residents gathered with friends, enjoyed the entertainment, and took part in the Canada Day festivities. Thank you to everyone who helped make this special day so memorable!

Last evening, our Chartwell Glacier Ridge team had the pleasure of joining the Northern Hearts Walk with Doc at the waterfront.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Northern Hearts for welcoming us and creating such a meaningful and engaging community event.

A special thank you as well to Dr. Javan from Curran’s Heart Centre for sharing his valuable knowledge on heart health and the importance of maintaining an active, healthy lifestyle. His insights were inspiring and a great reminder of how small daily habits can make a big difference.

At Chartwell Glacier Ridge Retirement Residence, supporting health and wellness is something we focus on every day for our residents, not only through physical activity, but also through meaningful connections and the joy of being together as a community.

We are grateful to have been part of such a wonderful evening!

Staff Appreciation Month at Glacier Ridge was truly something special!

We wrapped up the celebrations today with a fantastic BBQ for our team, prepared by our talented Food Service Manager. Staff enjoyed an incredible spread featuring smoked burnt ends, pork belly, buttermilk wings, and a refreshing watermelon salad, an amazing way to close out the month.

Throughout May, we made it a priority to recognize and celebrate the incredible employees who make Glacier Ridge Retirement Residence such a great place to live and work. From fun games and prize raffles to delicious treats along the way, it was a month filled with appreciation, laughter, and connection.

We are so fortunate to have such a dedicated, compassionate, and hardworking team. Thank you to each and every one of our employees for everything you do every day to support our residents and each other. We are truly lucky to have you!

This week, we want to extend our deepest thanks and appreciation to all of our care staff here at Chartwell Glacier Ridge. Your compassion, professionalism, and dedication make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents and their families every single day.

We are especially grateful to our Health & Wellness Manager and RPN, whose leadership, clinical expertise, and unwavering commitment set the standard for exceptional care. Your guidance, calm presence, and genuine kindness help ensure our residents feel safe, supported, and truly cared for.

To all of our nurses and care team members, thank you for the long hours, the empathy, the resilience, and the heart you bring to your work. We are incredibly proud of our team and so thankful for everything you do to make Chartwell Glacier Ridge a place our residents can truly call home.

Cinco de Mayo celebrations were in full swing today! Our residents enjoyed a festive afternoon with refreshing mango margaritas, crunchy churros, and fresh guacamole. We’ll be wrapping up the evening on a delicious note with some authentic pozole to round out the celebration. What a wonderful way to enjoy good food, great company, and a little fiesta spirit!

After dinner, our residents love to gather and enjoy live music performed by fellow residents who graciously share their incredible musical talents. Each performer brings a lifetime of experience, many having played in bands over the years, and their passion for music continues to shine.

Guitars, familiar tunes, heartfelt singing, and plenty of smiles… these evenings are about connection, community, and the simple joy of doing what you love at any age.

What a lovely spring tea at Chartwell Glacier Ridge Retirement Residence. Our residents truly enjoyed the afternoon, especially sipping tea from real china cups, which made it feel extra special. Tea sandwiches were a big hit, including cucumber and cream cheese, pimento, and a delicious cabana sandwich. So many smiles, great conversations and happy hearts!
