🎢 Here it is – our finished roller coaster!
What a fantastic way to end a busy week at AiR. After an afternoon of teamwork, problem-solving and creativity, our groups came together to build this amazing working roller coaster.
Remember, we're open every Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 3pm for coffee, connection and maybe even a game of pool. Everyone is welcome. 💙

Friday 19th June at AiR 💙
Today, we welcomed Tich from build recovery who travelled all the way from Glasgow to deliver a fantastic LEGO workshop. 🙌
The session encouraged problem-solving, teamwork and plenty of fun. During the second half of the workshop, participants split into three teams to build different sections of a roller coaster. We then joined everything together and successfully created one large, fully working roller coaster! 🎢 (Video to follow.)
We were also joined by the craft group from Alcohol & Drugs Action during their regular session from 11am–1pm. Hearing all the excitement from the workshop, they popped through to see what was happening and join in.
There were so many smiles, giggles, moments of connection and shared achievements today.
A huge thank you to Build Recovery for spending the day with us! 💙
We also welcomed justina, a student nurse from RGU, join us for the day. Good luck with your studies, fantastic participation and partnership throughout today 😁

Thursday 18th June at AiR 💙
Today, our Community Connects members enjoyed spending time together in the office while listening to our very own radio show, Recovery on AiR, which is live every Thursday at 2pm on SHMU. 🎶 🎵
Josh joined our presenters, Craig and Jon, at the studio, where they discussed stress and shared practical coping strategies for maintaining wellbeing. 😌
Earlier this morning, our walking group enjoyed a visit to Hazelhead Park, making the most of the fresh air, exercise, and connection with others. 😁🌿
Thank you to everyone who joined us today and continues to support our recovery community.

Wednesday 17th June at AiR 💙
This morning at our My Recovery and Me meeting, we heard an inspiring share from someone celebrating 6½ years substance-free. Thank you for sharing your journey and reminding us that recovery is possible. ✨️
This afternoon, our activities group enjoyed a short walk to the Aberdeen Maritime Museum 🚢 It was a wonderful experience, and as always, a video will follow soon. 📹 🙌
Tomorrow (Thursday 18th June), our walking group will be visiting Hazlehead Park. 🌳
📍 We’ll be leaving the AiR office at 10:30am.

📢 AiR Community Update – Tuesday 16th June 💙
Last Friday, we were delighted to welcome students from Robert Gordon's College, who are taking part in the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) and have chosen AiR as the focus of their presentation.
It was wonderful to meet such enthusiastic young people and share more about our organisation and the work we do within the community.
We were also honoured to receive a poem from one of our family members for inclusion in our upcoming magazine. Another powerful and heartfelt piece to add to our Creative Corner ✨
Today, the office has been buzzing, with many people dropping in to enjoy the Recovery Café and connect with others. 🍌🍉🥪☕️
📍 Wednesday 17th June: Our Activities Group will be visiting the Maritime Museum before returning to the office for some board games and social time. (Leaving office at 12.30)
We're keeping our fingers crossed that the weather improves so we can enjoy a trip to Stonehaven next week! 🤞🏽☀️

Build Recovery is heading to Aberdeen! 🚐🧱

We’re excited to be making our longest journey yet, travelling all the way to Aberdeen on Friday 19th June for a Build Recovery LEGO workshop with Aberdeen in Recovery.

Everyone is welcome, and I’ve heard the team and regulars are already looking forward to it. We can’t wait to get building together and continue our mission of bringing Build Recovery workshops to all recovery communities across Scotland - want us to come to you? Just ask!
