Congratulations to Peterhead Community Support Worker, Emma, for completing her SVQ Level 6 in Social Services and Healthcare 😊🌟

Emma’s conscitentious approach enabled her to get through the qualification at a quick pace, still her enthusiasm to learn and develop shone throughout.
A huge thank you to Aberness SVQ Asessor, Gail, for the great support she offered from start to finish.

πŸ’¬ Read Emma’s experience below πŸ’¬

β€œI'm just thrilled to have obtained my SVQ, I genuinely never thought I would be able to do it. It took a lot of hard work, determination and some resubmissions but I got there in the end. I've worked in the care sector for years now and I'm just delighted to have a qualification that recognises the work I do.
I'd like to say a massive thank you again to my assessor Gail, her guidance and regular Teams calls were very much appreciated and the support she provided me really got me through the times when my brain wasn't working properly 🫣 To anybody else that hasn't yet started there SVQ, go for it! If I can do it anybody can.”

Well done, Emma πŸ‘πŸΌ

A massive congratulations to Aberdeen Community Support Worker, Feyisayo, who recently achieved her SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare (SCQF Level 6) πŸ₯³πŸŒŸ

Feyisayo completed her SVQ in-house and was supported by Aberness SVQ Assessor, Gail. Feyisayo was asked how she found the experience and here is what she had to say:

"I am delighted and extremely proud to have successfully completed my SCQF Level 6 in Social Services and Healthcare. This achievement marks an important milestone in my professional journey and has strengthened my knowledge, confidence and commitment to providing high-quality, person-centred care.

Throughout my experience in social care, I have developed practical skills in supporting individuals with personal care, daily routines, medication prompts, nutrition, wellbeing and maintaining independence and dignity. Completing this qualification has helped me connect my practical experience with a deeper understanding of safeguarding, duty of care, legislation, risk assessment, confidentiality, communication and professional standards.

I would like to sincerely thank my supportive assessor, Gail Clubb, for her guidance, encouragement and constructive feedback throughout the qualification. I am also very grateful to my organisation for supporting my professional development and contributing 50% of the required course fee. Their investment in my development has meant a great deal to me.

This qualification has made me more confident, knowledgeable and reflective in my role. Going forward, I will apply what I have learned to provide safer, more effective and compassionate support while promoting the dignity, choices, independence and wellbeing of the people I care for.

I am excited and proud of this achievement because it has made me a better version of myself professionally and motivated me to continue developing my career in social services and healthcare. I look forward to using my new knowledge and skills to make an even greater positive difference in my workplace and in the lives of those I support."

Feyisayo, congratulations to you 😊 we are all very proud of you!

⭐ June Employee of the Month - Community ⭐

Congratulations to our Newmachar Community Support Worker, Susan, who was awarded June Employee of the Month πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸΌ

Susan joined Aberness in November 2024 and works a variety of rota shifts, as well as social visits. Susan started as relief, but soon opted for permanent work.

Susan was initially allocated to our Newmachar team, though after a short while, she extended her support to Blackburn, Inverurie, Potterton and Dyce.

Susan has a gentle approach and her energy has been described as calming; clients feel reassured in her presence, due to the reliable, consistent and thorough care/support she offers. The level of professionalism Susan demonstrates is respected and the boundaries she establishes and maintains within the work place is credible.

There have been several occasions Susan has offered assistance to cover last minute care requests, and if unable to accommodate the requested times, she offers the times she can help with (which has been hugely appreciated by clients and their families).

Last but not least, Susan recently achieved her SVQ Level 6 in Social Services & Healthcare; Susan’s Assessor praised her highly for her conscientious approach.

On behalf of Aberness, thank you for the excellent standard of service you provide πŸ’œπŸ’š

Congratulations to Inverurie Community Support Worker, Jessica, for completing her SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare (SCQF Level 6) πŸ‘πŸ€©

Jessica was supported by our in-house SVQ Assessor, Lynn, and has agreed for us to share her positive experience:

"Lynn was absolutely amazing and very understanding with me, my experience with SVQ was very positive. I never thought I could do it with being dyslexic and also having my little one, Lynn was forever there no matter what advice I needed. It wasn’t as daunting as I originally thought as once you get the rhythm of the SVQ it’s not as bad at all!
Thanks so much again for giving me the opportunity.
I would like to say a big thank you to Lynn for believing in me along the way."

Congratulations again, Jessica! We are all delighted for you 😊

⭐ May Employee of the Month - Community ⭐

A massive congratulations to Peterhead Community Support Worker, Akvile, who was awarded May Employee of the Month.

Akvile joined Aberness Care in February 2022 and has been dedicated to our Peterhead team for the duration of her employment.

Akvile honours a permanent tea/bed shift schedule and maintains an excellent attendance record. The clients always know when to expect Akvile and can trust the consistent support she offers.

Akvile completes all care tasks to a high standard and prioritises a clean working environment while doing so; colleagues who attend visits after Akvile’s presence can rely on systems to be left organised and tidy.

Akvile is known to have a good rapport with the clients she attends regularly; her skilled approach is tailored to individual need and tasks are carried out in an efficient manner.

Akvile is autonomous in the way she works, being described as β€œgetting things done” with confidence, and always updating the necessary people thereafter.

Akvile, it has been a pleasure witnessing your growth over the years. Aberness is lucky to have someone like you as part of the team πŸ₯°
