In 16 years as a mobile Equine Physiotherapist I have never charged a travel fee. I have always believed in transparency of pricing with a flat fee and no hidden costs. The base price of a visit has always remained lower than other qualified, insured and regulated professionals in the area.

I find myself in a situation where mobile visits over the vast area of Grampian is unsustainable with the cost of fuel and my current pricing structure is no longer relevant. I have no option but to introduce a zone travel fee.

Green zone - £70 per horse
Blue zone - £75 per horse
Yellow zone - £80 per horse
Red zone - no cover
Perform VIPs - unaffected

I hope this change is temporary and will monitor the fuel situation to make changes back to a flat pricing structure as soon as viable.

There may be the opportunity for you to travel your horse to Equine Physio appointments and this cost would be charged at £70. Please enquire if this is of interest to you and we can discuss.

All current bookings will be honoured at the normal £70 cost. Any future bookings will be charged as listed above. If you require any clarity please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss.

Its not always a big change…

Sometimes the change is subtle within a rider physio session but this can be a massive help to your horse.

On the left is the start of the session with Caroline Frew, Chartered Physiotherapist. The end of the session (right) shows less trunk rotation.

The issues identified were:

▪️Weaker through right hip & trunk
▪️ Poor right upper limb proprioception & rein connection
▪️ Compensating with left trunk rotation / overactivity on left

Treatment involved a
combination of off horse strengthening & on horse cues.
