🔎 Don't risk your health – check before you click

More people than ever are buying medicines online, but not every online pharmacy is legitimate. The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) is encouraging the public to take a simple but important step before purchasing medicines online: check that the pharmacy is registered.

Fake online pharmacies operate illegally and may sell medicines that are counterfeit, unsafe, incorrectly dosed, or contain harmful substances. They can also expose consumers to fraud and identity theft.

✅ How to check an online pharmacy:
1. Find the pharmacy's GPhC registration number on its website.
2. Search for the pharmacy on the official GPhC register.
3. If the pharmacy is not listed, do not use it.

The campaign also highlights warning signs of potentially fake online pharmacies, including websites that offer prescription medicines without a prescription, make exaggerated claims, have poor website design, or fail to provide a physical address.
