🚻 This National Changing Places Day, let's create a more inclusive Island of Ireland.

For thousands of people with profound and multiple disabilities and their families, this is the reality every single day.

A Changing Places Toilet is much more than an accessible toilet. It provides the space and specialist equipment needed for people with complex needs to use the toilet safely, comfortably and with dignity.

💙 Learning Disability Week 2026 💙

This week, we celebrate with Mencap in Northern Ireland in recognising Learning Disability Week 2026 and supporting this year's important theme: "Do you see me?"

At Sync Living, we believe everyone deserves to be seen, heard, valued, and included. People with a learning disability should be recognised for who they are as individuals – their strengths, aspirations, achievements, and unique contributions to their communities.

The theme "Do you see me?" challenges us all to look beyond labels and assumptions and ensure people with a learning disability are actively included in conversations, decision-making, education, employment, healthcare, and community life.

Through the equipment, environments, and solutions we provide, we are proud to support individuals, families, therapists, schools, care providers, and organisations in creating opportunities for greater independence, comfort, participation, and quality of life.

This Learning Disability Week, let's take time to listen, learn, and reflect on how we can all help build a more inclusive society where everyone is truly seen.

Sync Living will be attending the Carers Information Fair on Tuesday 9th June at The Marian Hall, Kilrea.

If you're a family carer, professional carer, or supporting someone with additional needs, come along and visit our stand. We'll be on hand to discuss practical solutions that can help improve independence, comfort, safety and wellbeing at home.

We are incredibly proud to have designed and delivered this sensory room installation for the residents at the Beaumont Care Homes Arches Care Home. 💙

Created to support vulnerable adults living with learning disabilities, cognitive challenges, and sensory impairments, this calming and engaging space has been thoughtfully designed to benefit not only residents, but also families and staff when needed.

A huge thank you to Helen, whose vision and passion helped bring this project to life through the support of Bloomfield Presbyterian Church, and to the home manager Gabby and the team at Arches Care Home for their commitment to creating meaningful spaces for residents.

Receiving this heartfelt letter of thanks from Beaumont Care Homes, alongside this wonderful review from Stephen at the church, means so much to us:

“A challenging project to provide a sensory room for vulnerable adults that we couldn't have completed without the help & support of the staff at Sync Living.”
